Redneck Chic meets Slaughter House FiveI joined a group of friends for brunch at this grungy, pseudo hip location that used to be the attractive, Tuscan style Italian restaurant Patrizio this past weekend. It was difficult to talk with the loud background music in this creepy setting of industrial/ biker meets farm house decor, including numerous pictures of farm animals on most wall spaces and dark colors throughout the restaurant.I got so creeped out seeing the animal pictures and watching the ginormous portions of fried, dead animals with breads and gravies stacked high on platter sized plates coming out of the kitchen. The smallest breakfast I could find was the Light Farm breakfast that was still enough to serve 3 people. No fruit plate or ala carte items were seen on the menu. I ordered the Light Farm because it said it would have fruit, but the fruit serve was a wafter thin slice of cantaloupe and honey dew melon. Even my coffee latte became lukewarm a couple minutes after drinking it. Not only was this a dismal dining experience, the prices are hefty as well. I was shocked to see how many people were packed into this place- like they were thrilled to partake of this upscale Redneck meets Slaughter House Five horror show. Yuck!
Meatloaf hash: diced up meatloaf on a bed of crispy home fries, with peppers, and two eggs (over medium for me): it was very delicious. The biscuit is the heavy dense brick-like style, not for me but many like it that way.Portions are huge.Service was very good.
We finally made it to Hash House a go go! Although the food was tasty and the service was good to be honest I don’t think we will be back. The reasons why we won’t be back, it was way to expensive for Breakfast and the portion sizes were massive ( hence the reason it being expensive). To me and my wife it’s more of a novelty than anything. One time is enough.
Went early (6:00) for dinner on Friday. Had heard food was good and served in large portions, so figured we’d go early and my wife and I could spit an entre. It Is pretty much a comfort food place. We ordered house salad and the Chicken Fried Steak. I’d classify the food as decent, but hard to tell since the service was so lousy! They sat us at a high table in the bar…even though there were numerous restaurant tables available. I could have asked for different arrangements, but decided to let it go. The bar tender was our waiter…once the bar got active no one paid attention at all. I stopped a waiter walking past and asked for a little side of gravy since we were sharing the entree…he acted as if it were a strange request, but said he would get it. It was the last time I saw him. I had to signal another guy walking past that we needed a take-out box for left-overs (by now I was annoyed enough that I’d lost my appetite). I then had to signal the bar tender (now very busy) to get my bill. Was a pretty I satisfying dinner date.
We have been trying to get in here to eat since the first day it opened but every time the line was out the door and the wait way too long. We went today (a Saturday) at about 2:30 and finally got in. We were seated in the bar at a table that was tall. I am not a fan of those tables but wasn’t picky since we finally got in. Our drink orders were taken quickly and the drinks appeared immediately. Then the waiter disappeared. For like 20 minutes. Finally another waitress came over and apologized for our waiter and took our order. I got the chicken fried steak and my son got the fried chicken. Food came out pretty quickly and there was plenty of it. The chicken fried steak had a wonderful breading and the gravy was to die for. The green beans were outstanding. My son gave me a taste of his chicken and it tasted great but was tough. My chicken fried steak was also a bit hard to chew. Both meals tasted great but the meat was tough on both. The mashed potatoes were excellent
Was so excited to try this place. The outside looks so inveting and a large patio. They serve breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner; breakfast can be ordered all day. The orange juice is fresh squeezed and very good, my husband ordered a Mojeto which came in a plastic glass. After looking over the extensive menu I decided to go with the Chicken Fried Steak – it was the largest cfs I have ever seen piled on a bed of mashed potatoes and a side of green beans. When I cut into the steak the breading was crunchy, a little over cooked and did not stay on the steak. The potatoes were good just too much – the whole plate had way too much food. My husband ordered Chicken Garlic Asparagus Hash with scrambled eggs. The Hash was tasty but too much rosemary, the eggs were fluffy and good but again too much food. They could easily cut the portion in half, shave 2-3 dollars off the price and still satisfy a hungry man. All-in-all the food was midle of the scale, severe was fair, loud and way too many kids. We won’t be running to go back.
