Went searching for dinner after we finished at cafe Istanbul as we wanted to try a different place . Only this was open after 10 pm and we straightaway ordered their pepper crusted salmon which was superb. Quick service and nice ambience.
Slow Service & Very Pricey. Henry’s cafe is a very large sports bar with large screen TV’s everywhere. It’s perfect for catching the Big Game or an obscure game from your home town area. The layout is well done. The row of kegs on the way in set a beer tone from the get go. The beer options are immense. I like how it’s broken down by type of beer and flavor. It’s helpful. The service was unacceptable. We were told by the hostess to find our own seat since we were looking for a specific game. After 10 minutes of waiting at our table, we went and got our own menu. Another 10 minutes went by before anyone finally came and got our drink order. The bar was not busy. Most of the tables were empty. Our whole meal went like this. Every step took a significant amount of time. Finally when we had enough we had to ask for our ticket. It never did come, we had to walk up to the bar and sit there until they got it.The food itself was actually very good. We really enjoyed the Mushroom pizza with truffle oil and an egg. The Three Little Pigs had great flavor as did the hamburger. I know I won’t be back. The service was really bad and the prices were very high. We had eight beers and three entrees. Our tab was $91 before tip. No thanks.
Nice place. Really enjoyed this place! my fate and I had a wonderful time. Our seating ended up being very romantic. but she likes sports! will certainly come back!!
Very good service by Chris. We had a selection of Stouts with Giant Soft Pretzels with four types of sauces on Patio and no noise . Couldnt be better.
Horrible Service!!!. I have been coming to this bar since it opened late 2012. Even DJ’d there twice back in Dec 2012. Service has always been up to par. This last visit however, was the worst service I have ever had with any establishment I’ve visited in at least 10yrs. (Maybe I have been lucky?) I really do feel compelled to write this review.I came here last Sunday night (6/30 around 8PM). It was not crowded at all. At least 6-8 bartenders at the bar so I grab a seat. It was easily 4 customers to a bartender. First there is a whole new staff. Second they got rid of my favorite, Blue Moon Hefeweizen, no biggie plenty of other beers. I order a stout and fish and chips. By the way, after I ordered, I never saw the bartender that I gave the order to. She dissapeared in some bartender waiting room somewhere.I have had fish and chips before and the 2 strip were enough to get me stuffed. However, this time it came and they looked like 2 childrens size chicken strips. I tried to bring this to someones attention, but the bartender I spoke with seemed to be put off and just told me in a no nonsense – take it of leave it kinda way, that’s how they came. OK, lack of value there. Tip just went down. So I ask for some lemon and malt vinegar. In times past, the malt vinegar and ketchup would already be in front of me after I order. The bartender says he’ll be right back. 5mins later, nothing. I flag down another bartender. She too said she’ll be right back. Again, never came back. I was hungry so I just start eating. The second female bartender I ask for malt vinegar comes back to my area of the bar, 5-10mins later, not to give me my malt vinegar, but to have laughs with the 2 guys 2 seat down from me. I finish my meal and my beer. At this point all the bartenders are either talking amongst themselves or with some of the customers. Took me a while to flag one down. I wanted another beer, but at this point I am soooo pissed, I just decided to close my tab.The entire time I did not feel welcome there. Bartenders just whizzing by in front of me like I was not there. No conversation. No checking if the food was good. No checking if wanted anything else. No asking if I needed another beer. When you see someone with a near empty beer glass, I would figure its good business to ask if they want another beer to make more sales. Silly me. Kudos to the busperson that asked if I was done with my plate though. Apparently he was able to see me.I have never felt so ignored and unwanted at an establishment than I did last night. Not sure if they thought that since I am of Asian ethnicity that I would not tip, therefore it would be a waste of time to bother with customer service, or maybe I did not meet the good looking enough to talk to standards.Well 1 customer may not put a dent in their profits, but I will never go there again. Plenty of other spots nearby. Ringo’s Pub, Peppersmash, Scruffy Duffy, etc.Pass on this place.
Recommended it for a group of work buddies on a Wednesday night and everyone left very impressed. We all got different things and shared and everything was terrific. Of course the beer selection goes without saying but our favs were the buffalo wings, cheese fries and the ribs. Pork chops were great as well. It had a good vibe to it as an upscale happy hour/social place. Will be back for sure
Service is outstanding. Fish tacos are very good.
