The atmosphere is exciting, relaxing, and unique. The outdoor seating area is larger so you have multiple options for where you want to sit. It is very well shaded and there are a lot of fans! Its a casual place to hang outside and its connected to Katy Trail. There were a lot of dogs, families, and friends hanging out on a nice day.
We were in the restaurant 03/29/2019 @ 6:02 check 172-1. , Baylie was our server, she seem to spend her time in the back, everytime we needed something we had to wave her over when we finally saw her. Worse food & service. we had the Bar-B Que. Could not eat the coldslaw or beans they tasted so bad Baylie’s comment was when we told her about how bad the coldslaw was {do you like the rest of the meal} which we replied the bar-B -Que sauce is to hot. was so 12.98 is high for a sandwich. My friend could not eat her sandwich because the Sauce was so hot. Seems to be more of a Bar than a food place. Really disappointed. waste of time & money.

I got Coleslaw with mine and while I love coleslaw and equally love onions (I can eat them like apples) this coleslaw was overwhelmingly full of sliced onions. I couldn’t finish. On whole it was very disappointing and we haven’t been back. I felt kinda sick for a few days after
No service. Visited early on a Saturday. They were not busy and as we walked in there were 5 or 6 waitress standing around. They have open seating and we chose a table outside. The patio is very nice with kids and dogs about. We waited for someone to come by for a while and while we were waiting two other groups came in, were waited on and received their drinks. Still no one came by despite making eye contact with a couple of the waitresses. After ten minutes we gave up and walked out, waitress still standing around visiting. Looked forward to trying it and the bbq smelled really good, but we will not return.
No service whatsoever!!. We attempted to eat a late lunch here today at around 2:30. The restaurant was not very busy at all. We sat waiting for a server for 20 minutes and no one even so much as greeted us, though many other parties around us who sat down after we arrived were helped. We finally gave up and left. Funnily enough, a few seconds after we stood up from our booth, a busboy came by to clear off our opened napkins, but he did not try to help us nor ask why we were leaving. Likewise, no employees said a word to us as they watched us leave. Wow! I love the original Katy Trail Ice House, but will never return to this one!
Not barbecue. This place isa bar that serves burgers. Calling it a barbecue is false advertising.
Good Bar Food. I went to Katy Trail and had a pretty good burger, the Terlinqua Pride Burger. Very juicy and tasty. Service was good. If you like an ice house setting, it is a perfect place.
