Good Gyro, Great Service. I went to Kostas Cafe for the first time ever. I got great service as I entered, everyone of the employees kept busy filling my tea, taking my order, bring my order, and taking the empty plate. The invoice was processed fast. I ordered the Gyro Plate, and it was delicious (although I think Stratos on NW Hwy in Dallas is better). All in all a great dining experience.
Some of the best food in Dallas. Last review? Wow. Place is awesome. We’ve been going for years and don’t eat at restaurants simply because they are having a GroupOn special. We eat where they have good food. Some of the freshest fish in town. Never had a bad meal there and I highly recommend it for those visiting our great city. No, I’m not the owner writing a review about my own restaurant, just a happy client and someone who loves good food.
Tasteless food, Rude Owner, Overpriced, Poor Service. My husband and I patronized Kostas on Mother’s day at 12:30 pm. Note not a major Holiday. W were seated at a unusually dark table and there was one other family there. We proceeded to wait for an additional 10 mins before the waiter decided to come to our table. We place our orders and waited, and waited for the total of 25 mins.before our cold and grease soaked food made it to our table. The only redeeming factor about our meal was the salad. We did not see a waiter again until we pushed our half eaten plates to end of the table and was given the check. Upon attempting to retrieve my Groupon voucher to pay the check, the owner strolled by informing rudely and condescendingly that he does not except Groupon vouchers on a major holiday. he further stated I go to the website and read his terms and conditions. I told him that a major holiday would be Christmas or Thanksgiving. As he walked past he said I will not accept your voucher for today’s meal. Our meal was $40 for an appetizer and two entrees. A $40 lesson I learned the hard way. Determined to get our money back on the voucher we purchased we went back 2 days later in the evening and had two entrees. Again we waited 25-30 mins for our meals with no other diners in the restaurant. The food was extremely salty and yes cold. So to sum it up if you like to wait a long time before you eat your tasteless, greasy cold food and be ignored and deal with a rude condescending owner I recommend you find another Greek restaurant that values its customer. We were able to redeem our Groupon Voucher with no problem but will not be returning to Kosta’s in the future.Food: 1 starAmbience: 3Service;1Wait time:1
The hummus was outstanding! I can’t speak for the pita’s flavor as I don’t eat it but it looked perfectly grilled. I also ate gyro (just the insides). Yum! Would return if in the area again. Service was attentive. The tables have tablecloths, linen napkins and fresh cut flowers. Just a delightful lunch.
Opa!. My wife and I love this restaurant! We frequent the Plano location weekly. All of the waiters (half which seem to be related and all very Greek) are friendly and entertaining. Dimitri, the owner, has become a friend to us. Anytime there is a new special or something he wants to put on the menu, he brings it out for us to try and give our opinion on. I haven’t tried anything I don’t like but the Mousaka and stuffed cabbage are definitely my personal favorites!
Excellent food and excellent service. A very enjoyable meal. Get the fried cheese! Opa!
Sooooooo RUUUUDDEE. I can’t say anything about the food, because I didn’t actually eat here. I called inquiring about a fundraising event, and the guy literally yelled at me, and hung up! I was in shock…I actually sat there for a second thinking he dropped the phone! Too bad I won’t get to rate the food, because I will never go to a place that is that rude to potential customers.
