The first time I came here it was great. However, upon my second and third return this place is disgusting and unclean. While staff sits around their floors, drink and condiment station, and register areas are filthy. I won’t be coming back for a long time. Their food maybe tasty, but seriously clean the place up.
I grew up in Hawaii, and L@L was pretty much just an average Hawaiian plate lunch restaurant. It’s not really Hawaiian food, except for a few items, but this is typical plate lunch food. An eclectic blend of food, always served with rice and mac salad. It’s a bit pricier than in Hawaii, but they do import a lot of stuff from the islands. I like the lau lau/kalua pig combo, and the BBQ chicken is always good, along with chicken katsu. Very satisfying when I get homesick and crave da kine plate lunch.
Just because something is different doesn’t mean every ones going to hate it. This place is fantastic. If you have lived in Hawaii you can appreciate it a lot more!! 🙂
Oh Yeah. I lived in Hawaii for 4 years and even though the weather is great and the beaches are spectacular, the thing I miss most is the food! L & L is a familiar name on the island and the one in Plano tastes just as good. I go at least once a month and if I lived closer than 40 minutes away, then I would eat there a few times a week. Great food & friendly staff.

Quite a good selection of Hawaiian food. However, The restaurant makes a cheap impression with some menu items and specials printed on paper and posted on the walls. Also a little too noisy with a couple of refrigerators and a fountain drink machine constantly running. A good alternative for some different, but quick meal though.
