What is this place? Wild game on the menu (Boar!), Bison on the menu (Steak!), and chicken fried brisket. What the hell is chicken fried brisket? It’s good, that’s what it is, and while it lacks the necessary bark and tenderness that smoked brisket requires, it is still an interesting and meaty appetizer.I ordered the grilled shrimp, which were cooked almost perfectly, very buttery, slightly sweet. Black beans were great as were the skillet potatoes.I dunno, I’m never up in this neighborhood, why can’t we have this in my city?!

Stopped in for Texas Independence Day with my buddy Bake. I’ve been here dozens of times but have never tried any of their food. Well, this trip I was hungry. Order the jalapeo poppers and buffalo wings. Both were perfect. The poppers were the best I’ve ever eaten. Delicious batter, tender jalapeo and the cheese stuffing was awesome. The wings were tasty and had a slight crisp to them. I’ll find my way back there for dinner one night for sure.

This amazing little eatery is always a treat! I don’t get up that way often, but from time to time it’s worth the drive. Took my friend for the first time the other day and she got a kick out of their unique and entertaining menu. The food was phenomenal as usual. If you want something a little different, or maybe something you don’t normally see on menus, this is a great place! Please try it! You won’t regret it. I’ve already made 5 different people fall in love with them. Oh! And make sure to take a walk around the restaurant for the view.

Love & War is an interesting place. It’s a Texas country lodge. There’s lots of natural stone, rough cut boards and deer antlers. All that’s missing is a cowboy walking the wood planks with spurs ringing to each step. The menu is mostly southern comfort food, but they have a wide selection of steaks and Mexican. We tried the chicken fried steak, Athens Burger, and Center Cut filet. It was good, but not great. Portions are Texas-sized, so think about sharing. Service is polite, but lacking overall. It’s a fun Texas place that is about the beer, music and atmosphere. Food is secondary.

My favorite restaurant in Plano. I’ve been to this restaurant since it opened, and it is my favorite restaurant in the city. Every menu item has been great. I love the Athens Original Hamburger, but I also love the Panhandle Special, Roasted Wild Boar, and the Habanero Fish Tacos. Food and service has always been good.

Hidden heat everywhere. I ordered the brisket tacos, which came with coleslaw and beans. Each individually would bring a tear to the eye. Together, they drove me to stealing a few chips from my niece’s nachoes. A veritable orchestra of hot peppers. That said, everyone enjoyed their food, once it was toned down a bit. And the service could not have been better. The one disparging remark was my son found the garlic mashed potatoes & gravy quite pedestrian. My brother-in-law found them to be quite tasty.

Just okay food, good service, but very smokey. They should not even allow smoking outside, it comes in the door everytime someone enters.
