A true mango lover is what I call myself. Hearing about this from a friend, I knew I had to visit it. I had a mango sundae and my friend ordered a similar sundae but with toppings as pomegranates in it. Both were really nice, the mangoes were sufficiently sweet! To be honest, I had a nice time here and I loved the ambiance.

After a meal at a chain restaurant during the week it was about 9PM and we thought the new desert restaurant would not be crowded as it had had little press and had only been open (soft) for three days. We were wrong.Mango Mango is an oriental desert shop on Central Expressway by Park (in Plano). It was full. People were spilling outside. We ordered at the counter and got the 2nd to last table. By the time we left there was a line out the door and they were 30 minutes from closing.Mango Mango has a lovely bright inside with some nice murals. The menu is a little long to digest fully as you try to order at the counter, but with a long line you have time. The menu has nice pictures of everything and the pictures nicely represent the actual product (unlike many restaurants – I’m looking at you, Wendys). They probably got lots of word-of-mouth in the Asian community as there were only two tables of non-Asians. We seemed to have just a slight bit of language issue at the counter, but that may have been because there was a bit of noise inside. We chose the mango sunday, and mango crepe cake (Mango Mille Cake). The mango ice cream was very good with chunks of nicely ripe mango and sauce. It won’t beat Henry’s Ice Cream, but it was very, very good. My wife’s mille cake was created by layering many, many crepes on top of each other with sauce. A slice of this was also very good. They have other fruits (durian) in their sunday’s and mille cakes. Plus things like green tea ice cream or red bean paste deserts. This is a marvelous new place to try deserts that are totally new to most people in Dallas!!
