So I get some places thrive on an edgy/blunt/crass service style, as a way to make it seem like a place in Boston, Philadelphia or maybe New York City. However the chef/manager/owner was just going off about random things dropping F-bombs and the like which only came off as aggravating and rude as opposed to lively or entertaining. I’ve been to other places that did this to a lighter extent and it worked but this guy made it feel just uncomfortable.I ordered a sausage calzone which came out fresh and fairly quick which is a positive. The calzone crust was good having a slight flake which gave it some crunch. The sausage was also good with seasoning that tasted like it was made in house. The big however here is would be the amount of ricotta cheese. This calzone was way overstuffed with an otherwise great tasting ricotta which in the quantity it was served made the calzone difficult to eat. It came with a side of marinara sauce which was solid and helped cut the ricotta.I’ve actually been there twice upon hearing the pizza is what I should’ve ordered. The pizza was indeed much better. The highlight would be the crust to cheese to sauce ratio which was perfect. The sauce was good with prominent pepper flavor, the cheese was stretchy and on point, and the crust was thin but not soggy….good pizza. So overall the food I would rate closer to a 4, much higher if not for the ricotta overload. The atmosphere is what hurt this rating, but hey if it doesn’t bother ya definitely go.
