A New Favorite. OMG, sweet tea, but sweetened with Splenda instead of sugar? How considerate! I had a grilled pimento cheese sandwich with a caesar salad and they were really, really good. I’ll definitely be back.

Oh My Blown Away. I had never heard of Newk’s. I went for the sole purpose of trying something new. If you are like me and wonder what to expect, think Cafe Express. The menu is narrowed to pizza, sandwiches, salads and soups with no alcohol. The atmosphere is more cozy than Cafe Express, but it has many of the same features including the round supply table with packaged breadsticks, olives, croutons, and other condiments.My first impression was negative. You hit a line as you walk in the door to order. The wall menu, line and point-of-sale are all right there as you walk in. It’s congested. My order taker was robotic and uncaring. She never once looked me in the eye. She just played out the script including the thank you and have a nice day in a monotone voice with no eye contact.That is where the bad service ended. Next came very pleasant people delivering the food. They all smiled and said hello. They all took interest. I watched as pizza after pizza was set down on tables around me with the best looking cracker crust around. I will be trying it. The four cheese mac looked awesome on the table next to me.Then came my dish, and I was blown away. It helps having no expectation, but still my Newk’s Q was awesome. It’s a white BBQ chicken sandwich on a baguette style bread. The white BBQ was incredible. I loved it.I cannot say this is a favorite from one visit. I need to try the other dishes, but this surely is the proper first start to get there.2nd Visit with family and blown away again. This is now a favorite. Loved the Debra Pizza, Newk’s Special Salad and Four Mac & Cheese!
Good tea, nicely toasted bread, clean and cute. Very smoky with the open kitchen, extremely oily pizza, way too much dressing on the salad and huge pieces of lettuce. Not very many vegetarian options. Very loud, several people at surrounding tables got their orders wrong. Won’t be headed back anytime soon.
