Nicola’s was not very impressive from the moment we walked in the door. I had made online reservations and let them know if was my wife and I’s 5 year anniversary. I wasn’t expecting much but maybe some intimate seating and perhaps an acknowledgement of the occasion. They failed miserably at both. Sat us right by the door and never once mentioned our anniversary. The service and hospitality were sub par at best. Food was good, but I just couldnt over look the lack of service. I probably wont be revisting this restaurant. There are too many others in the area that are farsuperior.

We tried variety if things, bruschetta was fresh tasting, got a pizza not much toppings but tasted fresh as well and liked the crust, chicken lasagna was good, and had beef tenderloin that was okay. Enjoyed the first three items the most. Didn’t care fur the bread served with meal. Service was fine but not looking out to be super friendly. Decent place.

Bland, overcooked and overpriced. Rubbery calamari with far too much breading – worst I’ve ever had. The flatbread was nearly tasteless (except for the burned flavor). The pasta was overcooked (go to Momo’s if you want it done right). One in our party tried the steak which had to be sent back twice – she asked for medium rare and they actually took the first one back because, as our waiter said, the kitchen burned it. The second try was full on rare and we returned it again. The rest of the group had finished eating before she got a properly done steak. At least they took the meal off the bill. Oh and the tiramisu was as flavorless as you can get. And after all this, since we had eight in our party, we got slapped with the 20% tip. I would normally tip at least this much but was not at all happy with the already overpriced meal.

Great Italian food, but iffy hostess. First off, I came here with a rather large group and we were on a pretty tight schedule. I was a little frustrated at the beginning because although we had a reservation for 18 people, we had to wait more than twenty minutes to be seated. Strangely a group of people with a later reservation and larger group simply walked in, spoke with the hostess, and were immediately seated. Worse, when we asked what the hold up was with OUR reservation, the young hostess snapped back (condescendingly, may I add) that the restaurant business is unpredictable, which I understand; however, I did not appreciate her tone. When we were finally seated, I was disappointed to see it was in separate tables of ten and eight. As disparaging as the beginning of my dinning experience was, after we were seated our waiter was so pleasant and laid back. He helped me choose my entree and it was wonderful. I don’t remember what it was called but the vodka sauce was simply amazing. It was cheesy and spicy and everything in between. It looked just as good as it tasted. Great dish. I also, cannot stress enough the tone shift from the hostess to the waiter. The waiter was both funny and attentive and he left me thinking great thoughts about this place. (Plus, the valet was hilarious.) Basically, great food, great waiter and valet, but pretty awful hostess.

BEST dining experience I’ve ever had. From the second I walked in the door, I felt really welcome. Hostesses were very affable, and joked around with us which surprised me because of how busy it was. We waited five minutes for a table on the patio, so we sat at the bar. The bartender was very friendly, and her personality definitely shined. After that, we sat on the patio and our waiter was with us instantly! He was very friendly and obviously had a good amount of knowledge of the menu and wine list. My husband and I ordered some appetizers, the calamari was my favorite. It was outstanding along with the dipping sauces. We had to fight over the last piece. Then our main course, I ordered what was called the Porco Buco; a little pricey but it was the most delicious meal i’ve ever had in my life. the sauce was to die for. my wife had the veal chop, and licked the plate with her fingers. As a dessert, we had some kind of pastry with chocolate inside of it. Needless to say, it was the cherry on top of the amazing service, and dinner experience we had at Nicola’s. To the manager or the owner, I just want to say you made a very good choice in staff! Will definitely recommend this place to everyone I know.
