Great North China. We’d heard of this place from bloggers and notice it going to Blue Ginger Garden, next door. The first thing the the number of items on the white board, in Chinese, was longer than many Chinese menus. The actual menu is 12-14 pages long with a great menu exotic items. Edible frog parts (I’m not sure what the would do with in-edible frog parts) and other strange items. We settled on dumplings, sweet sesame pancakes, Orange Duck, and Not savory crispy beef.I’m not a dumpling fan, but these were the best I have ever tasted. The sesame pancakes were an excellent appetizer. The duck was a half duck, flattened and fried until the skin was a lovely brown and crispy. It was tremendous. The beef included vegetables and lots of jalapenos, so I didn’t expect the taste. I thought it would taste of the jalapenos, but instead had a lot of sichuan pepper. Unexpected and excellent. This may become our favorite Chinese restaurant in Plano.John Update: after many visits this place is great if you want authentic Chinese and are looking for dishes that are not on most menus. If you’re adventurous this is excellent. If you want the standard (americanized) chinese dishes, like kung pow chicken maybe you should go elsewhere.
