Classic italian dinner service. Bread was actually soft, ruffino wine was great. Lady came by multiple to make sure we were okay. Chicken alfredo was 7 out of 10. Potato soup was on Point. Water has just the right amount of ice cubes. Their American flags are VERY sturdy.
Potential to be a great unassuming restaurant. Had high hopes with all the positive reviews. Must not have been same place we ate. Decor good inside but less than clean. Calamari was dried out and leathery, microwaved? on a pile of lettuce. Chicken Pizzaiola had an odd Asian sweetness, salmon with fett-alfeodo was packaged salmon, not good, fett-alfeodo with with shimp poorly seasoned. The bread was disappointing but the garlic and olive oil dip was good we should have stopped with bread. Service was fine.
Excellent!. This place from the outside, made us look at each other twice. But seriously when you get in their it is like Italy! There are booths with walls in between with cute curtains for nice privacy and made it really quite. My husband and I like the music. The manager and staff were friendly. Ok about this food…..DELICIOUS! It was like homemade never could be made again food. So so good. So, don’t let looks deceive you. GO HERE! the prices were cheap for the best food. We will go back. It is a true family restaurant and I love to support family owned business.
Nice, quaint italian place and priced right. Pizza, salads and vinaigrette superb. Lunch prices are fantastic.
No Cookie Cutter Chain. Saturday night prime time and the place was lively and packed, so thank goodness we had reservations. Our group of seven thoroughly enjoyed every dish. They took it in stride when two more friends unexpectedly arrived. My husbands Blackened Snapper was perfectly prepared and my Linguine Aglio Olio was yummy. When I asked, our sweet waitress steered me toward adding the blackened chicken, which was a perfect choice. The fabulous farm style bread and included soup or salad were delicious. This is a long standing popular NON-CHAIN family restaurant in an older but developing part of town…road construction makes parking a bit difficult. The interior is so cute with red curtain rimmed private booths along one wall and soft yellow walls. There IS lack of a place to wait for ones table if the tiny bar area is booked. We’re not regulars, but enjoy it every time and have never encountered rudeness.
The food is almost as awful as the people. So, I have never written a review for a restaurant before, nor have I ever complained to a manager about the food, however, this place was downright repugnant, and their bad attitudes pushed me over the edge. I ordered the pasta sampler. Having been on a very strict diet, I had not eaten Italian food in several months. I am refueling for an athletic event tomorrow, so I decided what better time to have Italian than tonight. I read reviews and ratings and decided this was the place to go for excellent food that I don’t get to eat very often. But, I was incredibly disappointed. First off, the bread. Okay, so, the bread was pretty good. Crunchy crust, soft inside. The garlic in the dipping sauce that everyone is raving about, however, was far too overbearing. I ended up asking for balsamic vinegar instead, which made it a bit more palatable. I enjoyed the bread. The minestrone soup, however, started to get me worried that maybe this wasn’t the best choice. I mean, I didn’t even realize that Chef Boyarde even made minestrone, because I’m 90% certain that is what it was.I ordered the Pasta Sampler, figuring this was the best way to taste all of the staple items. Well, they bring out a HUGE plate of unidentifiable food items SWIMMING in sauce. I tried a bite of each. Heavy sauce, the pasta overcooked to the point of being basically mush. The lasagna was about the equivalent to a high school cafeteria. They made their best effort to mask the mediocrity of the food beneath an ocean of sauce and cheese, which somehow made it even less appealing. It was truly inedible. I ate a grand total of 3 small bites, then piled the cheese slop into a to go box, dreading the thought of having to actually finish it as leftovers. Now, bad food happens. It is disappointing, but not every place is tasty. Not to mention, I am a cripplingly shy person who has a hard time ever voicing a complaint. However, at a $14 price, I decided that it may be a good idea to mention something. I still intended to tip the waitress well(I mean, she did her job. I had water, she brought me my vinegar when I asked, and the poor food wasn’t her fault) and was even okay with the idea of paying for the food, but I couldn’t help but express my disappointment. The waitress just scowled at me and brought the check over anyways. As another waitress passed by, I apologized for the inconvenience, but asked to speak to the manager. Here is where this restaurant really failed. The manager hostilely came over, fuming about how I had insulted his sister (the waitress) and his establishment. He said that what I had ordered was one of their most popular dishes, and that if I had anything to say about it, I could leave and write a review online (well, here it is). He then scolded me for insulting his restaurant, saying that if the food was bad they would not have been around for 15 years, and told me that my business was not welcome. I was shocked by the hostility. Absolutely shocked. I was amazed that someone would treat a young girl, a customer none the less, with such aggression. I tried to explain that I meant no offense, which simply made him even more angry and he stormed off. I left nearly crying, having never been treated with such poor customer service in my life. This place is completely overrated. The customer service is abhorrent and the food absolutely an abomination. And, well, he wanted me to write an online review, so here it is. This place needs some serious help. I’ve seen better food at my university dining hall. I have never been more disappointed by a meal.
Phenomenal!!! Reminds me of the family owned Italian restaurants and bars in the Northeast blue collar cities like Cleveland, Buffalo, and Detroit. The outside and inside dcor is intriguing in that there is no pretentiousness and the beat-up 1950’s look usually speaks to me of an establishment that is more interested in investing in its food than in the surroundings. All the appetizers, entrees, and desserts are magnificent. The huge portions can feed two or more people. Their house wine rocks and their mixed drinks are perfect. The prices are graciously reasonable for us middle class. The clientele is a cross section of the melting pot of America because the word of mouth on the sensational food has spread far and wide. Finally, the owners and staff are unbelievably attentive without being intrusive. They are ladies and gentlemen of the highest order of etiquette and desire to serve and please. I have brought clients to this beautiful gem and it has won the hearts of all who have partaken of the delights this great place offers.
