Great steaks , flavoursome and juicy , pricing reasonable and for that you won’t find a better steak , the salad wedge also great as is the steak tip salad , always one of my favourites for steaks when in Dallas

We have been here several times. This trip was stopping for lunch between two doctor appointments, and it was well-timed because we were hungry. We always like Saltgrass as one of the low-medium grade steakhouses. It seems to have consistently better steaks than the others. (We used to do Outback for a cheap steak, but while their sides held up well, the steaks were too inconsistent.)Sharon had caesar salad and prime rib, I had tortilla soup and a strip. The service was the usual cheerful staff that we have found at almost every Saltgrass. That alone endears this chain to me. Even on a busy day they seem to make things easy.I was surprised at the soup. Two years ago, at a restaurant I could not remember, I had the best tortilla soup I had ever had. I have been searching for which restaurant served it for several years, and I think its Saltgrass. The soup had a very nice broth, with just a hint of spice. A good amount of chicken, and nice strips of tortillas. I would gladly come back just for this. The beef was the usual. Not the quality of a high-end steakhouse, but still pretty good and satisfying. For the price its quite a good bargain.

Love Saltgrass for steaks. The wedge salad is the absolute best I have ever had. I do get extra dressing because that is what makes it the best. I only order T-Bones because the flavor of those can’t be beat even in the more expensive steak houses. The bread and honey butter rocks and the service is usually outstanding. Not a fan of the shrimp embrochette because they put BBQ sauce on it and there are just too many flavors going on

At the Plano location, we had a far better tasting steak than I’ve had at many Ruth’s Chris, and without an pretension. The salad and sides were great, and the wait staff was friendly without being overly attentive. For a treat, try the Cowboy Ribeye sometime.

Great Decor & Service with Average Food. Saltgrass is an example where the decor and service make this a place I like to visit even though the food is average. The decor starts outside with split rail wood and horse shoes sunk into the side walk. Inside, aged barn wood and split rails are used to accent brick and white stone. Cattle horns and wagon wheels adorn the walls and ceiling. The whole atmosphere is just great.Their service goes right with it. The host smiles and says hello instantly. They help and keep you informed. The table service was really well done. Our server was attentive. He instantly replated a wedge salad when it wasn’t just right for one of the people in our group. A second person wanted their steak with no pink. It came with pink. Within minutes the manger was there. He had it recooked and delivered it himself. He stood there until she checked and was satified. Truly great service. The food is just average, but I keep coming back. Today we had several appetizers. The chips with the spinach articoke were soggy and greasy wet. The breaded zucchini was bland. My smoothered filet had a very odd taste and plated poorly (see pic). I ended up scrapping the bacon, mushrooms and onions to the side. The steak itself was great, which is their bread and butter. The highlight was the tortilla soup. That rocked.

Chicken at a steakhouse to die for. This was the best chicken I have ever had. So tender and good. I have never written a review and this was sooo good I must. I also have to rave about the green beans that came with it. Believe it or not. I want to know what was in these fresh green beans!! Wedge salad was small (like it should be for a large entree dinner), super cold and just right. We were at the Farmers Branch location and our waiter (don’t know his name) was also awesome. Tall and dark haired gentleman.
