This is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Plano. The food is authentic and delicious. You have to try the beef lo mein and salt and pepper squid. The staff is very friendly and accommodating too. We had a party of 6 on a busy Friday night. The restaurant was completely full and rather than making us wait for an empty table they opened their private dining room for us.
Great place for lunch! My coworkers and I get food here as a team frequently (once a week). Their cumin lamb (also with cilantro and fried red peppers) is amazing – definitely a must-try. Other favorites include Yu Shan eggplant (in a sweet, garlic chili sauce), spicy fish with boiled oil sauce (you don’t drink the oil), four-mushroom clay pot (great meaty flavor), mapo tofu in chili sauce (don’t knock it until you try it), and their cold bamboo shoots and cucumber appetizer (with lots of garlic). Bring coworkers, order family style, share the rice, and pay with cash (discount). Sometimes the owner will share some of their delicious hot/sour soup (better than any I’ve tried).
I was told this place was pretty good, but I unfortunately went at a busy time and the service was extremely slow – we waited for at least half an hour and someone who came in later got his food first. However, the food was decent when we got it. I wouldn’t say it was the best Sichuan food I ever had, but their menu accommodates for American Chinese food and more authentic Chinese food, which is good for some people!
Tremendous Chinese food!. I finally had a chance this week to get to Sichuan Folk. Its near the Super H Mart on the otherwise untrendy side of Plano.Going for a late lunch I was, unsurprisingly, the only non-oriental customer. I thought the food was great. The hot-sour soup was among the best in Dallas. The Deep fried chicken with chiles was outstanding. Not for the faint of heart, there were more chiles on the plate than chicken. The chicken was nicely fried without being dry, and had a great flavor. There was enough in the order for me to take some home and have a second lunch with it the next day.Now I have to go back and try the rest of the menu.
