What a great restaurant and to find a Turkish buffet style restaurant. The owner is such a great guy. Our first time he came out introduced himself, and walked us through how everything worked. We will definitely be back.
Not a bad Mediterranean buffet place: you get a fresh baked Adana or Chicken Kebab with your buffet offerings of the usual salads, mezze items, and soups.A fresh basket of pita bread is hand delivered to the table when you sit.The fresh tea is delicious.
Hands down the best Turkish restaurant in the Dfw area! We first tried this restaurant in LA on Venice street. We were thrilled to find out the owner opened up a location in Dfw and the food is even better here! We come here from Fort Worth every week to enjoy the food. The Adana Kabab is a must. The buffet has delicious choices including chicken and beef options. The grape leaves are just perfect. The Turkish tea tastes exactly like what you get in Istanbul. Owner is very friendly and will help navigate you on options if you are unfamiliar with Turkish food. Highly recommend for any in town or just visiting Dfw area.
Update 22 Feb: Texas knows beef, As such it isn’t hard to get a steak cooked medium rare or even rare. But Lamb isn’t handled as well. Its hard to find places that will cook lamb rare, and lamb even more than beef should be rare. Well done lamb is leather. And its even harder when you have lamb kebabs. But at Sofra the owner cooked my wife’s lamb kebab a beautiful rare. Sharon was thrilled.I should also note that every time we go here we have even more fun just talking to the owner!Seriously this is a hidden gem in Plano!- – – – – – -Update: 8 Feb 2017; This is a hidden treasure of Plano. Its on the SE corner of Alma and Parker way back in the strip shopping center. On my wife’s second visit the owner already remembered her, knew how she wanted her kebabs, and knew she wanted Turkish coffee for desert.I am not a big fan of buffets but this one I would gladly return to! Its the best buffet, and one of the best lunches, that I know of.- – – – – – – We have been here twice now for lunch. An excellent buffet! They add kebabs cooked when you come in (because the owner says if they put them on the buffet they will dry out), plus bread and fries. And the kebabs are excellent. We got Turkish Tea and Coffee at the end of the meal as well. This was a lovely, quite place for lunch. One of the better (not to say bigger) buffets around. My wife loves their Turkish tea (see photo) but she likes their Turkish Coffee more!
