Very nice. We recently came to Vickery for a birthday celebration. 13+ people, all with different orders, separate checks. Usually a nightmare for the waitstaff but our waitress handled us beautifully with smiles the whole time. Excellent service.
Not so great. After reading various reviews my wife and I decided to try dinner before a concert at Courtyard Theater. Place looked nice enough inside, it was Seat Yourself seating so we found a table. Turns out that meant multiple people wanted to take our drink order and confusion ensued. Eventually a new face appeared, not the friendly person that brought the menus, and without introducing herself asked if we were ready to order. Id read the brisket sandwich was good (below) so I tried it.First mistake. Ive had many, many brisket sandwiches of one style or another in my past 55 years in Texas, but I was not expecting about a 1/3 to 1/2 cup of something like honey mustard dressing mixed in with the meat. Others may like that, but to me it was inedible mush. The Picnic Fries that came with it were just run of the mill slightly greasy and barely warm french fries. That was all fine, I may not care for their style of food but others may love it, so all is good. The deal breaker was getting my wife a glass of wine. We watched our no name waitress pour the last of a bottle in a glass, study it for a bit, then bring it to us. It was obviously no where near a standard 5 oz. glass so my wife, after some hesitation, asked if she could have a standard glass of wine. Mistake number two. Our waitress opened another bottle of wine as she should have done to begin with and added a couple of drops. Then later overcharged us for each glass of wine we ordered while we were there.Instead of arguing about $6 I paid the bill and we left, wont be back. But the Joe Ely concert was great!I do want to say that the other staff were very friendly, and a manager did stop by early on to ask if everything was good. What should you do in that situation, color your whole evening by telling him in front of the whole room that my sandwich was inedible (IMO) and our waitress was too lazy to open a bottle and pour a correct glass of wine? Maybe he will read this.
Best damn grilled chicken sandwich I’ve ever had.. This place has a greats beer selection, and everything, foodwise, has been great. But I get these cravings for the grilled chicken sandwich that induces insomnia if not met
Gotta try it. Vickery Park is a great neighborhood pub. Surprisingly good food and awesome beer selection. If your spouse/friend is a wine drinker they also have an excellent selection of good wines. Friendly staff and excellent service. Monday nights are 1/2 price pizzas (very good pizza) and Tuesday nights the entire menu is 1/2 price – really good food a rediculously low prices! You’ll be glad you tried it.
Food lackin. The decor and atmosphere in this downtown Plano location is really good. The alcohol prices are a little high and the variety is lacking. The food is nothing more than glorified Bar Food and pricey at that. The mac and cheese is legit though. Overall, not worth the effort.
More like Victory Park!!!! (4.5 out 5). WoW!!! Stopped by this place off of a yelp recommendation. Glad I did. This restaurant/pub had a nice laid back feel on a Sunday after noon. We hit it for brunch. Everything on the menu looked good. After flip flopping 2 or 3 times, I finally ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer. These along with the small salad that comes with it or a great starter. After asking the waitress for a recommendation I changed my mind one last time. I will say this before you think it, I ordered too much. I ordered the breakfast burrito and the brisket sandwich. My companion ordered the biscuits and gravy. I had a taste of the biscuits and gravy and have to say I would not have been disappointed if that was my meal. My breakfast burrito was quite delicious as well. The star of this show was the brisket sandwich. The Kalau cream sauce made me look at brisket in a whole new light. This meal also comes with the house fries served with some sriracha ketchup. This was also a nice surprise. This place is full of surprises and I am more than glad I was able to stop here. The only reason this restaurant didn’t get 5 stars was the wait staff kinda disappeared after it got a bit busier. Guessing they were a bit under staffed. Overall I would say go out of your way for this food, go way out of your way if you have to.
Food is great everytime, and I go up there quite often, because it has a really relaxing & warm atmosphere. I like it a lot, because the food has a very unique taste, and it’s pleasantly different. I’m a big fan of the pizza, and the Sunday Brunch is amazing after a long weekend. The staff is super friendly, and really make it a great place to go during the week. The bar has an excellent variety of beers, and carries a bunch of select brands that I haven’t seen anywhere else in Plano. There’s something like 25 or 30 different kinds of bottled beer, which is really cool, cuz I love to try out new styles when I’m feelin’ spontaneous. It’s got a very comfortable atmosphere, like I said, and I see families come and bring their kids during the day all the time. At night they play a lot of music I like, from new alternative to chill hip hop tracks. On weekend nights, it’s a great place to come and meet people, and definitely one of best bars on 15th st. Make sure to try the late night hand-made beef tacos, beats the hell out of fast food. All in all, it’s an excellent place to eat, and a great bar to get your swerve on. Make sure to ask about their specialty shots too. Good times
