Last review is from 2 years ago if that tells you anything. Deserted. They do not know the pizza game, this much I know. I think they use matzoh to make their crust – yuck. And NO ONE from Cafe Roma has anything to do with this place. I asked.

I was a fan of Cafe Roma and have now been to West Village several times. The pizza is the same New York style pizza. While this is not my favorite style its still very good. On a recent weekday evening we went there and I tried their spaghetti & meatballs. I was very impressed. This is one of the best I have ever had.I’m now a fan of the new restaurant.

West Village Pizza and Pasta is the new business started in the location of the old Cafe Roma. Cafe Roma had been open for a period of almost 15 years, and the customers prove it. The original owner sadly lost a battle with cancer, which is why the owner and staff changed out. HOWEVER, Cafe Roma’s original family is still a large part of the current business. Any of Cafe Roma’s specialties can still be purchased. And considering how many people come by for Cafe Roma, myself included, the change in ownership does not reduce the Cafe Roma atmosphere. West Village Pizza is a new start on an old business, but we would like to keep our greatest pizza lovers coming back. Time marches on. Change is always present. But Cafe Roma’s recipes are very much still alive and prepared in the kitchen everyday. We may no longer be Cafe Roma, but our commitment to our customers will never change. We have also added a new line of all kosher meats, so feel free to try any specialty you want. Pizza by slice available upon request as well.
