The brisket sandwich had decent smoke flavor, but was dry and relied heavily on the sauce. The fries are pretty good, but the chips and queso was disappointing. I will not go out of my way to eat here again, but might give it another try if I am in the area. livinthegooodlif.blogspot.com
Descent Barbeque in a fun bar style atmosphere. My husband and I finally tried this. He got a half pound of meat with half brisket and half sausage. The brisket was nice and lean. The sausage had the right amount of spice, but he has had better. It also came with a jalapeo corn muffin which was very tasty. I had the #1 brisket taco with bacon. It was very good with just the right balance of toppings. The meat was lean and tasty. We also had the chips and queso. The chips were homemade fried flour tortilla pieces seasoned. I thought they were a little hard to bite into and salty but my husband liked them. The queso was good. They have a nice selection of beers and Maine Root soft drinks. I really like Maine Root root beer.
If you are a BBQ snob, skip this place. If you like Texas BBQ, skip this place. If you like BBQ, skip this place. If you like to hang out with work colleagues, after work, or live in the area and need to bring the kiddos to a nice clean environment, and you think BBQ is just another food to eat, this may be for you.I ordered the half chicken: got a pile of dry somewhat smokey shredded white meat in a pile on a tray with a drizzle of sauce on it. Meh!I also tried the Brisket taco, Ribs taco and the pulled pork taco (going for all the meats): at $4.26-$5 each, the meat was bone dry, the flour tortilla was average (no corn tortilla option), and the toppings for each were fresh. Meats had a smokey tinge to them.I think I’ll pass on this place in the future. Not my idea of good ‘Que.
