I have been dining at Haystack since they opened and the food and service are always excellent! My favorite is the Haystack Salad with grilled chicken. Avocado, bacon & cheese, fried onion strings also are served with the salad, too. All of the hamburgers are great. The beer selection is nice, as they offer some of the best local brews in the area. I’m especially fond of Mosaic IPA. My son loves the Haymaker, a frozen bourbon drink.The atmosphere is casual and appeals to families, couples, singles, well… everyone! You order at the desk, you are given a number, and then one of the staff brings your order to your table. They will also bring you more drinks (both alcoholic & non alcoholic) and anything else you need.Don’t miss this dining spot in Richardson!
The food was okay . This is a review over service I found who I assume to be the owner rude. My only assumption is because I was black. Everytime I have been in their establishment I have felt unwelcome. I noticed she was super nice and friendly with other patrons. I gave it three shot before I have no refused to eat there again based mainly on the treatment of myself and my young soon. People of color stay away.
Awesome bacon cheeseburger cooked medium to perfection. Served with lettuce , tomatoes, string fried onion & pickles. I opted out of the picked served on a brioche toasted bun. Awesome burger that was moist & delicious.
Very good burger place. My son raves about the patty melts. I like the more traditional burgers. Each burger is large and juicy and well prepared. The fries are also very good. The onion rings are also quite good I just wish their dipping sauce was a thicker consistency. The place is always packed and the end up having to find you a seat. This also means it isn’t a good place for a leisurely meal. That said it is a must try if you like good burgers
This place was great for a vegetarian and her carnivore. The veggie burger option hit the spot! The single serve mound of fries was plenty for two.
After a movie at Alamo Drafthouse next door, we decided to grab a bite to eat at Haystacks & Barley. We had been there a few times before and each time its been an EXCELLENT food experience.Om: Ive had some dang good burgers since Nom and I started our food journey, and Haystacks always sticks out as the BEST burger experience out of them all! The interior of the restaurant could be described as industrialI think, Im not an expert in that stuff. No matter, its nice and fits with the food they serve. The service is friendly and helpful they dont have a wait staff and just deliver the burger to your table. The burger is simply outstanding. I had the Haystacks burger, which had lettuce, tomato, cheese, BBQ sauce, and onion strings. The burger is stacked high with toppings, I definitely used a napkin or five by the time I finished. The meat patty is the best tasting that Ive had, and the combo of that plus the mentioned toppings really makes it an awesome and unique taste. We also ordered a half and half, half fries and half onion strings, which were also very good. 5/5 for me, best burger Ive had.Nom: We love Haystacks burgers. When I think of where we should have a burger they come to mind and I lament how far they are from us! An added bonus is the fact they are right next door to the Alamo Drafthouse. I really like the interior, its kind of industrial but not so much so that its uncomfortable. Its always been clean when weve gone and this trip was no exception. They serve a huge burger! I originally ordered the haystack but realized that it was far too big a burger for me and there would be no way I could finish it even if I just tried to have half. So I downsizedI had a cheeseburger with bacon, lettuce, pickles and mayo. There are a lot of places where they do not ask how you want your burger cooked but they do because the burger is nice and thick not some thin burger by any stretch! I had mine ordered medium rare and they nailed it! Which was amusing since there was an upscale steakhouse that way overcooked a very expensive steak. It was juicy and tender and the toppings were nice and cold and crisp! I shared the 50/50 but was so full I couldnt eat much but the haystack onions were cooked perfectly. They make the best burger Ive personally ever enjoyed!
Awesome food. Great beer.. This place does it right. Their burgers are delicious and always cooked perfectly. They have a good selection of toppings as well as some soup and salad options as well, which I have tried and are great. They also have a great local draft beer selection as well as 30+ national craft beers in bottle/can. You have to check this place out!!! You will not be dissapointed.
