I really enjoyed my experience at Kathy’s Choice. You are greeted by Kathy herself along with the rest of her staff when you enter the restaurant. The food in this Tea Room was excellent, especially their cupcakes (I had the triple chocolate, it is a must try!) I also had the Grilled Bologna Sandwich which was not what I was expecting. It was thick slices of grilled bologna with coleslaw on top (it may sound strange, but it was really good). The servers were friendly and on top of their tasks.
Excellant Tea Room. We visited the Kathys Choice which is a tea room/catering restaurant. It is located in a hard to find location in far north Dallas at the North West intersection of Coit Road and Belt Line. The establishment is in the far back just behind the courtyard. There is seating in the courtyard as well as inside seating. The menu is primarily salads and sandwiches. We had the chicken salad sandwich and the turkey on sourdough bread and both were excellent. They were served with kettle chips, and a tomato and pickle on a stick. We also had the tea which was passion fruit flavored. The desert was cake covered with ice cream and a sauce. We watched the preparation of the desert which took a few minutes as it was individually prepared and not taken from a showcase.it was excellent and the service was outstanding. Prices are a little on the expensive side however this is a tea room and not a full fledged restaurant. The place was almost full by the time we left and mostly with senior females. I along with one other male were the only males dining. It is quite interesting to hear the various conversations that are talking place as seating is rather close in the dining room. It was very enjoyable. Like being at Starbucks and hearing the soccer moms talk about last night only this time it was the seniors taking about grandkids and whatever. They are open for lunch and dinner as well as private catering.
