Food snob was AMAZED. My wife and I just moved back to the Tyler, TX area after living in CA for 4 years. I was used to eating pho atleast twice a weak at our favored restaurant which was picked after trying every place in town. (CA has way to many BTW) After reading reviews for 45 mins online we made our first drive up to Pho Bac after visitint family in lower dallas. It was AMAZING. Just as good as anything I’d had in CA. We also tried Pho 95 which was so-so but open late. We just made a second trip to pho bac today and again had amazing service and pho. Taste and consistency are what I tend to judge since they are both equaly importent to me (major food snob here) and I would give Pho Bac 5 stars all the way around. Also on a side note its the first pho restaurant that lets you pick your meats and not premade combos. I found my new House of Pho.
Simply great.. As a non-Viet, I get a little nervous to dive into the unknown… but boy do they make it easy to do so. If you just can’t decide on what to make or buy for breakfast one morning run to this place and order some nice pho soup. It is simply delicious and a great way to wake up. The restaurant itself is simple, with CNN and ESPN on big screen tv’s and the typical chatter of folks hanging out at a popular place. The wait staff is very sweet and makes it easy to enjoy your time there. I am delighted to go because the food is actually that good, in what I would consider something better than a hole in the wall.
Hit and miss!. The restaurant was good before the original owners sold it. Two of the three last visits I had there have yielded poor service and smaller portions than before the change in ownership. I had to ask for bean sprouts and dressings for the soup on my last two visits, because the wait staff never brought them out.
