Hubs and I went there on our weekly date night last night. Atmosphere was very neat, fireplace was very pretty & warm for a cool rainy night, server was friendly & efficient, but most of all the food was AMAZING. The Tilapia Oscar was so buttery delicious & my hubs cajun combo was spot on. A new top 5 favorite placeholder for us!
Very Nice Lunch. We head back to this Rockfish location for another lunch since we are meeting another couple at that time. There are free peanuts in the shell that you can take with you back to your table. Get a bucket as you enter the restaurant.Promptly seated (got the last table). The waiter (Tyler) took our drink order promptly and was back in a flash.Ordered the clam chowder which came out hot and full of clams. Very good clam chowder. Ordered the fired oysters and got about 8 ounces but I dont think I could actually say it was eight oysters, as it was more like eight pieces. Some had been cut into halves. The oysters were acceptable but certainly a long way from being outstanding. Had the steamed asparagus with the oysters—what a combination. The asparagus was excellent as it was crisp and tender. No sauce on the asparagus, just the eight spears. Another ordered the lunch size mango tilapia and she tells me it was delicious. Another had the half poboy (fried oysters) and half bow of gumbo. I was advised it was delicious. Then the last in the party ordered the crab stuffed flounder. The food looked good and was very good. For desert we ordered the cranberry cream brulee. Came in large brulee bowl with the cranberries on the bottom of the bowl. It was very good. Good food and great service as the water and tea glasses were kept topped at all times. The restaurant was crowed for lunch however we lingered around after the lunch crowd left and almost had the place to ourselves by 2PM.

Crissie, the girl at the front, is the best! Feels like coming home. Food is good and reasonably priced. Jeff runs a great restaurant.
Rockfish – North Dallas. This is a nice, more budget-friendly alternative to Oceanaire. My fave is the pecan-crusted tilapia.
Great seafood, very fresh!!
Really good fish and chips
