I am here for business from California and am staying in the Richardson area. I tried custard at another local restaurant a few nights ago but Sweet Firefly’s ice cream blew that custard out of the water! I tried the cinnamon and mint Oreo ice creams and both were excellent. I will definitely go back before I return to California.
Whenever people say suburban Dallas has nothing to do, I instantly think of how wrong they are since this place, and 1418 Coffeehouse, exist. Sweet Firefly has an adorable interior with its appropriate mason jar lighting fixtures. The staff is always willing to give samples and have a friendly camaraderie going on. I’ve had the beltline berry a few times and the only downside is the chocolate can be annoying to chew. The summer red white and blue flavor is a perfect fruity and creamy flavor though! In the winter I love their rum raisin… in other words you have to keep going back to try them all.
I don’t know if you’re allowed to sample the shaved ice flavors but don’t get the lime flavor. I had a watermelon snow ball which was shaved ice with bourbon vanilla ice cream layered in between and it was amazing! I’d definitely go back for that.
Firefly is a happening place on Saturday night. The line was out the door. It’s very good ice cream. We tried Coffee and Oreo Cookie Crunch and enjoyed them both.
My family loves Sweet Firefly!. Sweet Firefly is the one of the best gourmet shops around! Their ice cream is the truly amazing! The atmosphere is fun, busy, and extremely family oriented. It is an instant classic! We buy gifts their too. They have a wide variety of candies and other little gems that make great gifts! In the summer my kids can’t get enough shaved ice there too! Thank you to Angie and Patti for creating such a fun, treat-filled place to frequent in Richardson!
A diamond in the rough! Stumbled upon this gem of an ice cream place–delicious gourmet hand dipped ice cream w unique flavor offerings/combinations that leaves you satisfied & wanting to come back…again. I now crave this place. It’s a little pricier than Brahms ($2.95 for 1 dip) but worth the occasional splurge. They also have a small area for kids to play w a few toys, write on chalkboard wall. Also a tiny storefront so get cozy because this place is going to be packed this summer! Reminds me of a successful business you would see on the tv show shark tank. Go try it–you won’t be disappointed!
Great ice cream!. My family and I popped over to check out what they had. I got the peanut butter and chocolate ice cream. It was awesome!
