Yes the food is pricey, but it is OUTSTANDING. The sandwich was $9, with no sides. It was by no means skimpy with the meat, and I ordered it lean, and…

My family ate at Ten50 for the first time yesterday. The meat was amazing. Having said that the portions are ridiculously small. I had the two meat plate and it consisted of two ribs and two slices of brisket for $14.95. Amazing flavor, but really? We didn’t fare as well with the sides. The brisket baked beans are very good; however the potato salad and slaw were not – in fact they were bad. Loved the atmosphere and the staff, but way overpriced for the amount of food.
Read the other reviews and decided to give it a shot. We went at about 3 on a Friday afternoon. It was about 55 degrees outside. Why is that important? Because you get your meat outside. I ordered the brisket tacos. 8 = half a pound. I also ordered the 2 meat plate as did my son. I got brisket and cheddar jalapeo sausage. My son got brisk and house sausage. They served us the meat and sent us inside food our sides. It was great to get inside because we were very cold waiting in line outside. Inside was somewhat warmer and out of the wind but still cold. For my sides I got potato salad and Mac and cheese. My son opted for French Fries. They gave him a device similar to what you get at some restaurants when you are on a waitlist to be seated. Son got water and I got a soft drink. It came to just over $44. Then the receipt had a spot for a tip. This kinda irritates me because there were servers but no waitstaff. At any rate I left a tip and found a table and got our drinks. I first tasted the Mac and cheese and it was actually good. Nothing special but still good. Next I tried the cheddar jalapeo sausage. The taste was good but it was only warm temp wise and the casing on the sausage was very very difficult to chew. The brisket was next and was moist and tender but also barely warm. Flavor was okay but nothing to call home about. The brisket tacos were a disappointment. They weren’t bad but just also barely warm and were dry and kind hard to chew. Flavor was okay but again not anything special
Very good BBQ and sides and a nice selection of craft beers. We were greeted warmly by one of the men working the grill. I believe his name was JW. He patiently taught us the process. My husband chose a selection of meats by weight including a sausage and some brisket and chicken stuffed jalapeos. I had the double meat sandwich with both pulled pork and brisket. I also had a side of mac n cheese and one of the delicious yeast rolls. The sandwich was quite large and I took half home as leftovers. The brisket was tasty and lean. We enjoyed it very much. I recommend it.
Food not that great and way over priced! Will not be going back!! Too expensive to be eating off a piece of paper. Too many better places to ea.
So I was pretty disappointed with Ten50 after hearing from a few different people it was pretty good.I’ll start with positives first:-The wait time was good-Environment/Ambiance was great (live bands always a plus)-Separate bar area made getting drinks very convenient.-Potato salad was awesome-Self Serve soda fountainNow for the negatives:The biggest issue I had was the quality of the meats. I sampled the pork rib, sausage, turkey, and brisket. None of which were much better than Dickey’s…..this is a very sad thing especially since the price is on the more expensive side and the portions aren’t all that great. The brisket was dry, the turkey tasted baked not smoked, the ribs were basically jerky on a bone. The sausage wasn’t terrible but didn’t stand out in any particular way.Beyond the meats, the cole slaw was strange being heavily based in vinegar which I’ve been told is just a different style…..hated it.So despite all the positives, which were many, to me they failed at the most important part, the actual BBQ which is why I’ve rated them so low.I’ve read the other reviews and their sampling of the meats must’ve been very different so perhaps I just went on an off day.As always try them out for yourself and believe it or not I’d be willing to give them another shot……just one though
Finally went to see what the fuss was about. Cost me over $18 for a to-go 2 meat plate (they don’t have a 1 meat option) & a drink. Sheesh! Oh & the to-go is normally order-ahead but they did accommodate me. Took a while. Potato salad was very good – best part of the meal. Cole slaw was very strange and nothing like any I have ever had – more like a salad, but OK. Brisket was just OK – definitely not best – kind of chewy. Pulled pork was OK – but had one very large and somewhat dry tough chunk in it. Very scant amount of sauce given and meat portions were small for the price. Didn’t even get a roll with it. So, now I have been. Will not be back.
I’ve been wanting to try this place since it opened. Glad we made it tonight before a movie at Alamo Drafthouse. When you first walk in there’s a spacious open air room where you order your meats. There’s a giant board with a huge meat selection. The guys working that room have high energy and are friendly. Hubs and I both decided on the two meat plate. We ordered then were directed to the next room to order our two sides. This is where the biggest disappointment came to play. No mashed potatoes. No green beans. There was a guy behind a counter with Mac n cheese and pinto beans. Hubs and I ordered Mac n cheese. I asked if there were other options and he advised that in the previous room we could have ordered a baked potato. He said they also had Coleslaw, French fries, fried okra and corn on the Cobb. Hubs ordered french fries and I ordered fried okra. He then advised that we couldn’t do that because fried items counted as two sides. Say what?! All of this should’ve been simply stated in the previous room. That would make the most sense right? Anywho – once we paid the sitting area had nice lighting, high ceilings and cute decor. Nice, large bar as well with a large variety of beer on tap. The sausage and prime rib were fabulous. The Mac n cheese was elementary cafeteria quality. Overall – the meat selection, friendly staff and atmosphere will have us return. Hope they fix the kinks though. Oh – and a stuffed sweet potato option would be super cool. Hint hint.
