Great pizza. Decent Italian food. I really like the pizza, it’s consistently great.
WORST PLACE EVER. I went here with a couple of friends.. We walked in and this blonde girl working there just stared at us. She didn’t bother to greet us. On top of that, she made us wait five minutes.. And the place was empty. She took our order about ten minutes later. The whole time, she was being very rude and did not even refill our water once. I got up to ask for a refill on water at the front desk, and the woman was on the phone for ten minutes before she even acknowledged my presence. Food was bad as well. They gave me a side salad that I wouldn’t even feed to my cat. I am not ashamed to say that I gave no tip, for the first time in my life. Don’t come here if you want good food and good service.
Moslty Good but AVOID…. For a positive review this is going to be mostly negative. The Venezia Caf is great for the most part but the few things they get wrong they really screw up bad. Anything I dont mention at all you can consider good.Pros: Clean, good service, nice enough to take a date but casual enough you dont feel out of place in shorts & a tshirt.Good: Baked dishes, cant go wrong with any of these, upper end IMHO.Stromboli & Calzone, highly recommend. Specialty salads great as well.Bad: Token salads that come with baked dishes are lame. A fistful of lettuce, a meager slice of tomato and a small cup of dressing in a styrofoam clamshell do not a salad make.Pizza: New York style is just lame period.UGLY: Subs, these guys suck at subs. Its just regular sub roll with lunch meat that looks like it came out of a Great Value package from Walmart. Venezia Cafs The Works, (version of an Italian sub), is pathetic and even more expensive compared to a Jimmy Johns Italian Night Club.Deep Dish Pizza: Theres potential here but the pizza guys are LAZY, SLOPPY & ERROR PRONE.CRUST: 16 square deep dish pizzas: 4 corner pieces are 75% CRUST. If I wanted $20 worth of pizza crust I wouldve ORDERED PIZZA CRUST.SLOPPY TOPPING: Half means half, not 1/3rd, not 2/5ths HALF. One person wants Onions, the other doesnt DONT SLOP TOP THE PIZZA. While it beats the hell out of Pizza Hut, (which Ill never eat again), pizza from a place like this deserves a lot more love.ORDER BUNGLING: 2 out of the last 3 times we ordered the Gourmet Deep Dish pizzas the top table guy screwed it. The wait staff took the order and correctly read it back to me all three times. Two of those 3 times on top of the quality being poor the order was horribly botched. We didnt get the wrong pizzas either, (we double checked).OUR ORDER: 16 Gourmet Deep Dish Meat Lovers Pizza add Mushrooms & Onions on 1 HALF.Pie # 1: Order was correct, quality poor, 4 corners all crust, VERY sloppy topping.Pie # 2: Meat Lovers with wrong veggies all over the place. It was too late, (closing), to send it back so they offered us a free one next time… why not just give us this one free & if we feel like giving you another chance… well call you.Pie # 3: 12 Meat Lovers 12 Mush On, Wheres the other half of the meat???SO with the exceptions of my above rant we otherwise love these guys. Wed just really like the restaurant to pick up the slack in the weak areas, Subs & Deep Dish Pizza. These 2 areas should be brought up to par with the rest of the fine cuisine we enjoy there. Get it right or drop it from the menu.If either of these areas are improved on Ill change this review to reflect.
Been coming here fo years and never had a bad meal. My fscorite is the tortellini modo mio. Yumm!
Best SALT TEA in the Metroplex! I was served (then charged for) a tall glass of tea, which turned out to be the saltiest beverage I’ve had since taking in half the Gulf when I was nine. I found myself wishing I had saved the tea, though, when I was served possibly the most bland plate of spaghetti & meatballs this side of a Boyardee factory.
HORRIBLE. I ordered from Venecia through the eat24 and company Eat24 was gracious enough to credit me for the meal but the food itself was horrible the quality was low the meat on the sandwiches were extremely stingy the food itself was a horrible experience the restaurant manager Jos refused to give me a refund or take this food back I would NEVER order from this restaurant again and neither should anyone else!!!
Stopped by for lunch and ordered a cold Italian Sub to go. The wait staff that took my order was terse and not friendly, I should have left immediately. The sub was delivered warm instead of cold. There was 1 slice of salami and 1 slice of cheese on each 1/2 of the sandwich. On top of the meager meat and cheese offering was about 6 small cubes of CHOPPED tomato, some wilted shredded lettuce and a few pieces of shredded carrot. Looks like they dumped some leftover salad on the sandwich and sent it out the door. The sub roll was the only part of the sandwich worth eating. I ate half and threw the rest in the trash.Do yourself a favor and drive on by this place. Dallas has much better restaurants than this one.
