On target everytime!. I often have the opportunity to recommend restaurants and this is one of my favorites in Richardson, TX. Our company president went to Ye Shire Tavern after my recommendation and is now a regular. The fish and chips is his favorite. The meeting/celebration room is special. Event Planners must see! I have a varied budget presented to me and John is always willing to work with me. While I can’t say the company I work for, this is a favorite from the too down. Carrot Cake is not to be missed. It is that special.

Great Atmosphere! Delicious!. We just moved into the neighborhood and just happened by this place. My husband had the Prime Rib Sandwich and I had the Chicken Sandwich. They were both cooked perfectly and were delicious! Our server, Tami, was delightful and we had perfect service. So glad we found this place and we are already looking forward to going back.

Still the best meals on the entire complex. Have eaten at them all more than one time. Not a bad meal at any of them. Keep coming back to Ye Shire as they have the edge with service and food. No clue why their rating is low. Will keep coming back!!02 Jul, 2009Great food and drink. Love the fish and chips. Never had a bad meal there. Bartenders are tops. If you have not had thier home made chips yet you must try them!!

Great restaurant!!. I have eaten there many times and the food is always top notch and similar to what you find in the more expensive upscale restaurants. I have eaten at many different restaurants around the world and I would consider this on par if not better than most. And as far as Phil W goes, it sounds like you wanted a free meal because the waiter did not tell you what the specials were and over a minor accident (the manager offered to rectify). What’s up with that? Then you tip the waiter 15%? When I get, what I perceive as bad service, I certainly don’t reward the waiter! Normally when something is not to my liking in a restaurant, I tell the waiter and they replace the food that is a problem. Is it possible the waiter was new? Why didn’t you ask about specials, if that was so important to you? Just a tip: Let the management know how you are feeling, 9 times out of 10 they will do whatever is reasonable to make you happy, don’t sit there and say nothing and then complain about your bad experience and try to get a free meal.

Great place. Dear Phil from last review – you may want to utilize spell check before publishing comments. With that said, I was the back waiter when you folks came to dine with us. I loved how your wife furiously rubbed and rubbed her $19.99 JC Penney purse as if Kryptonite instead of tarter sauce had been the culprit. When wifey was offered a cleaning instead of a ‘free meal’, she transparently deflated and realized her comp dream was not to be. Because she utilized her tarter sauce with her meal, there was in all reality, a microgram of the sauce left. I do give her points for a great dramatic show however – she must have been exhausted upon deflation. I have since resigned from my serving work with this restaurant as I am moving back to Toronto to care for my disabled mother in law. I will miss working at the restaurant mainly because the regular customers loved me and the wonderful food. Phil – you and your friends should try cafeteria style dining to ensure no one commits any type of serious accident that your wife experienced.26 Aug, 2009Ye Shire Tavern. My husband and I were initially disappointed as we thought this place was more an ‘English place'(we are expatriates). Our initial displeasure was soon replaced -the food is wonderful and delicious so I was shocked to hear the earlier review re: the woman owner. I was told however, that a recent disgruntled employee had written this reveiw and boasted about it later. Jon and his wife, the owners, are kind, fun and certainly engaged in making sure the food/experience is great – it is, and we always go back. Great weekend specials – always fresh…trust me – awesome place!!

Food and Service. A group of fellow (about 30) men attended a lunch about 2 months ago and enjoyed the fine food and service in the private dining room in the rear of the restaurant. Two of us thought it would be a great idea to take the wifes to this place for the good food and service. This was a big mistake. Our waiter did not communicate very well with informing us of any specials or a description of any of the foods or drinks they offer. A waiter at a table behind us explained in great detail each of the specials and what ingrediants and how it is made in the kitchen on a few of the items requested. This waiter was very good and we were impressed. But our waiter didn’t seem to want to explain anything. We ordered 2 fish and chips dinners, a turkey dinner and ribs. The two fish and chips dinners were very salty and the fish was really fishy tasting like it wasn’t done enough. We also had an unexpected surprise of potatoe chips but though it would be fries. The rib dinner was pretty good per my friend. My wife had the turkey dinner and she said it to was extremely salty where she had to leave half her plate. She made a comment to the waiter and he said he will have to inform the chef. I’m sure he told the chef, yea right!. When the waiter started cleaning off the table he accidently dumped a full dish of tarter sauce into my friends wifes purse. It was all over her wallet, glass case and all inside the purse as well as outside and all the zipper compartments. It was a total mess. He did appologize and brought extra napkins and a glass of water to clean it up. She said she would clean it up herself. A few minutes later, while she was cleaning the purse, a female manager came over and said she heard what happened and she offered to have the purse cleaned and gave her,her card to call if she wanted it done. Normally, they would have offered her meal comped but did offer a cleaning. This is the first I heard of this being done in this manner, but atleast an offer was made. Overall we felt that the service was poor and the food was not well prepared. We probably made an error by paying this waiter a 15% tip. He was probably worth 5% if that , but we did it anyway. We will probably not return to this place for lunch or dinner in the future.

Worst place i have ever been. The staff seemed professional and the bartender had an extremely out going personality, but the people who own it… oh my goodness. Could the woman owner be any more fake. from what i saw all i have to say is a feel very very sorry for the employees. i beliveve the husbands name is jon?, he seems like a decent man when his wife is not around. maybe i’ll come back in a year and see if they are not the owners anymore.
