I like Twisted Root, but this is better than most. The layout is more pleasing. The employees are happier. As always the burgers are awesome. I tried the Spicy Goat and Kevin Bacon. The meat in both of them were slightly pink. The flavors were so good.
It was awsome I came here with my family!I love the burgers and the shakes are totally worth it I loved how they called your name with famous people instead of numbers.
Fun place. The burgers are good, not great, but good. They have quite a few different varieties of burgers to try which is nice. In addition, they have a good selection of sides (fried green tomatoes, fried pickles and green beans, sweet potato chips, along with straight cut french fries.) I really like the pickles that they have out for you to try with your meal.
Burgers are great. Very wide selection Otto choose from. Very flavorful. Atmosphere is very relaxed and families will enjoy this place. One if the better burger joints in the DFW.
23 Jul, 2014I’ve been coming here long before I began writing reviews. I actually had a meal here on New Year’s Day in 2011, and remember liking it so much that I thought it was about time to return and see what’s new. Well the first thing I noticed is that you better get here early if you want a seat. It was mid-week and the place was already jumping and it wasn’t even noon! There is so much going on in this restaurant that it can make your head spin. Music is fairly loud and and is welcome except when they insert a Debbie Gibson song like they did. (Really? I paid to hear this? I want to enjoy my food.)There are two different lines. One for food and the other is for beer. The lines move quickly and the ordering process is easy. You are handed a card with a whimsical name which will be called when your meal is ready. Names such as Dr. Dre, Little Mermaid, or in my case Billy the Kid were being shouted into the mike throughout lunch. I had the Lost Mexican which had jalapenos and bleu cheese dressing (not crumbles) which was fine since it had the same pungency. I had the works (onion and lettuce, you have to request tomato) but didn’t order the specialty toppings like bacon or avocado. The meat was seared on the outside, but still was served between rare and medium rare. It was pretty amazing. They have a pickle bar which I didn’t use, because I had a order of Quincy’s fried pickles which was totally mind-blowing.. Nice little golden crust on the outside, this generous order disappeared long before the burger. I was really stoked when I heard they had a watermelon iced tea. Drink size couldn’t be smaller but there are free refills, so drink up! The tea was excellent and I certainly drank a boatload, considering the hot temperatures. As for the price, the Lost Mexican burger was $7.50 and the fried pickles were $2.99, tea was $2.00. The burger is not so expensive, it’s just everything is ala carte which raises the price. There are no combo meals so this place acts as if it is the Reata of burgers. I can see where you can be aggravated at the prices but shouldn’t be surprised. I’ve heard complaints about this since they opened. Hasn’t seemed to hurt business here in Roanoke though.Since I have been disappointed with Fuddrucker’s as of late, this is probably going to be my go-to burger when I want something a little more gourmet–something beyond In-and-Out and Whataburger. I’m glad I’ve got a choice.
Fun Place with Unique Favors. We took a group to the Twisted Root for dinner. The service is fast casual and the dcor is funky-urban-garage, which somehow works. The music is rock and rather loud which may not be for everyone. The food is tasty and unique. While we were waiting for our food we got fresh pickles from their jarred pickle bar. There were 3 pickle flavors, spicy, bread & butter, and dill. I found the spicy too much for me, but the bread & butter were slightly sweet and yummy. Though you can build your own burger toppings or even get burger with game meats like elk or bison, the featured Our Favorites are different and good. My daughter had the wing-style burger, which was very good, but the hot sauce was a little spicy. At our table we also had The Kevin Bacon, Lots-A-Shroom and The Western burgers that all got rave reviews. I had the Enough Said that included a yummy bacon-ranch sauce and crunchy potato chips. I paid extra for a pretzel bun that wasnt that good, but everyone that had the regular bun thought it was good. I thought the fries were just ok, but the onion strings and fried pickles were wonderful. The best drink is the homemade root beer, which is served out of a fountain dispenser, so you can have endless refills. They also do specially root drinks and the night we were there it was walnut root beer. You absolutely must have a Custard Shake before you leave. It is a lot to drink, so share it with a friend. The shakes are very thick and have creative flavors like, Toasted Coconut Cream Pie. The shakes were a wonderful finish to a good meal.
Roanaoke disappointment twisted off on twisted root. Went on a Sunday evening with my father to the Roanoake location, heard amazing things about twisted root…the only thing twisted were the panties of the girl behind the counter. we arrived about 8:30pm and it seemed to be an inconvenience for the staff to work and do their job, (last time I checked a restaurant employees check is supplied by the customers paying). Having never been before I had questions about the menu and my father who is 78 had questions which really seemed to bother this girl, I have expressed my feelings to the corporation and after 7 days of no reply I have decided to post on here. I will not return to pay $29.00 for 2 burgers and 2 sodas and if I have the opportunity to let as many of my fellow hospitality friends, coworkers and associates know I will.UPDATE:I called Jason Boso chef / founder on May 27th 2014 of the chain to discuss what happened . Jason replied with an email offering a certificate to return and try the Roanoake location again, I affirmed the offer and am still waiting for the certificate. It is very sad that an organization thinks the customer does not count.
