Always a hit! The bone in ribeye is damn near perfect. They are knowledgeable of celiac concerns and work to accommodate gluten allergies. Was sad when they removed the orange glazed quail from the menu.
Haven’t eaten here but once for brunch since they started using white table cloths and doubled the price. Brunch was good but miss the old atmosphere.
Very hit-or-miss in my opinion. Sometimes wonderful and sometimes lackluster. I have been here at least twenty times in the last 5 years and cannot pinpoint the problem. We have had almost everything on the menu and have found that the appetizers are often the best part of the meal. Why don’t you try just a drink an appetizer here and then mosey on ever to The Oar House to finish it off…
Waitress was knowledgable and curtious, hostess was kind of a snob. Sat my family of four with two minors 3 feet from the bar. Lighting was dark enough to make it difficult to read the menu. Filet migon and the prefix dinners were good worth the money spent the spinach salad was nasty, the flight of fancy was a disappointment. Waitress was nice enough to make us a fresh pot of coffee. Presentation was good. We were there on Friday night before the crowd.
Great atmosphere, professional and courteous staff….but….*very overpriced, small portions (on meat) and tough filet-minon steak. We were really disappointed!! We will stay loyal to Saltgrass!!!!
Roll the Dice!. I have had both great and terrible experiences here – usually the great part has been the food, and the terrible part the service. Every once in a while the stars line up and I hit the jackpot for great food and great service – but this happens less frequently in recent years, sad to say. Still, the very best salmon I have ever had anywhere was at Culpepper’s. Worth a try, just in case…
Im an easy guy to please, and this did not. Ok, they close at 11pm friday night and my date and i arrive at 10:15, the staff treats us like were an inconvenience, our waitress rushes us, they have no draft beer, 20+$ a plate, and i get the captains plater which is a beer battered catfish… Soggy meat, 3 cold shrimp, 3 nasty fried oysters, a huge portion of what they think are truffle fries and one bad hush puppy, no lemmon, only kechup. It needed salt and there wasnt any of that arround. My date had the sea bass, no flavor, undercooked risoto and needless to say we didnt take it home with us. On the possitive, the atmosphere is great, the band was good. And thats it. Good luck culpeppers your gonna need it. We wont be back, and ill tell everyone who askes where the worst food is? Its at culpeppers.
