In New Jersey, this would be decent BBQ. But Texas is the cradle of modern BBQ and the worlds epicenter for good brisket. Brisket was dry and tough. Tea tasted like lake water. Really.
Awful. Hello-My family and I ate at your rockwall, tx location last night for dinner. Dinner was not enjoyable to say the least, the restaurant only has two high chairs and they were both in use, so I had to hold my 1 year old son through out dinner and my 2 year old daughter had to sit in a booster seat, ordinarily that would not be a problem, however since the only option was to sit in a booth the booster was not very secure, needless to say none of us were really able to eat our food.The food quality was another issue, my husband and I both got sausage and chopped beef, both of which were very dry and the Mac and cheese was watery and the mashed potatoes were crusted over from sitting under the warmer for too long. I would have discussed this with the guys working last night, however they seemed very disinterested in our experience because no one even asked how things were when both my husband and I had to go to the counter.
Soulman’s is the BEST BBQ in North Texas. The portions are generous and the selections of sides to choose from…well, there are so many it’s hard to choose! The ribs are the best I have had anywhere, topped only by County Line in Austin. They were meaty and very juicy not to mention seasoned perfectly so very flavorful. The brisket is cut to order, so depending on of you like drier brisket or the fattier juicy slices, you can get it however you prefer. My favorite thing is the BBQ sauce. It is not too thick, and has a sweet but smokey flavor that perfectly compliments the meats. Great value, tender juicy meat, friendly staff, big portions, delicious food…this place has it all! Highly recommend!!
