This place is awesome!. I’ve eaten a lot of Sichuan food as of lately and this place has vibrant flavors, huge portion sizes and a reasonable cost which is everything I look for in any good restaurant. The # 11 Sliced Fish w/ house special sauce is the best rendition I’ve had anywhere. Not overwhelming with the chili oil, tender fish fillets are poached in there with a ton of chillies, some sliced cucumbers w/ fresh minced garlic for some bite. It’s surprisingly light for what it looks like and is a dish I could eat for days and multiple meals. Hands down the best flounder I have ever had I also has the pleasure to try the Stir Fried Beef, absolutely amazing! Cant wait to return..
Do NOT try this place. Food was disgusting and even the fried rice was terrible and mushy. They didn’t even have egg in the fried rice. A Chinese restaurant that can’t even cook FRIED RICE. I had Kung Pao chicken also and all it had was spice but no flavor. Wife had General Tso and she almost cried it was so bad. $20 down the drain.
Bland blahs …. I started with the hot and sour soup, which was incredibly thin and lacking in any sort of real flavor, as well as not much in the way of substance in it. The egg roll I ordered with my meal turned out to be a spring roll – which was fine to me, as I prefer spring rolls. This was the closest to a succesful portion of the meal. You could tell that this was obviously something that had been made on site. It was not just a frozen egg roll thrown in some hot oil. The ingredients were even tasty. The problem was that either the oil was at far too low of a temperature, or they had been made long ago and left to sit out. My guess is the former. Either way the result is that it soaked up and held a ton of grease, leaving it somewhat soggy and dripping with the goo. The portions on the food were fine, but my main course of mongolian beef was once again very muted and bland. The vegetables were well chopped, obviously fresh, and were not badly cooked. It’s just that the whole dish was very muted and underseasoned. I don’t know if the owners thing that generic suburbanites can’t handle or appreciate properly seasoned food, or if they just try to stretch the sauces and flavorings in order to save a buck, or if tey just simply don’t know how to properly cook a meal. But whichever way you cut it, the food here across the board pretty much shares one quality – bland, under seasoned, undersauced, under everything. I won’t be going back.
