Same food and the same service as the other location but I just have been going to the other location for so long that I cannot help myself be partial to it.
I am perplexed about the rating. I have tried to find something positive about this place, but can’t. Old food under sticky table. Servers more interested in talking too each other and looking at their phones when I need a refill on coffee. Servers taking trash cans out front door to empty them. When they bring the empty can back in they don’t wash their hands, yuck! But the reason I left without eating my food, are you ready for this? On the way to the restroom I looked in the kitchen. A big pile of bacon under a heat lamp and the same servers using their fingers to put bacon on a plate. I am going too throwup now!
Won’t be coming back. When I arrived there were 3 persons on the waiting list ahead of me. I was told it would take 15 minutes to be seated. 35 minutes later, I was finally seated at a table that was mostly clean, but still sticky on top. The person managing the wait list didn’t seem to know how to manage the flow of customers, and consequently spent a lot of time running around not accomplishing much. When the meal came it was good, but nothing special.
Terrible service, food is slightly better than a truckstop, but not quite up to Denny’s culinary standards. I’ve been to Cafe Java about 5 times now in the 7 years I’ve lived 2 miles away here in Round Rock. Somehow time slowly erodes my memory of high prices for cheap food and bad service. In my most recent experience (today) my order was brought out missing one item, which happened to be sausage. When the server returned with a plate containing sausage and eggs, she asked me not to take the whole plate, but actually remove only my grease soaked sausage from the plate with my hands (of course I didn’t have silverware yet) and flop it on my plate. She then proceeded to deliver the eggs on the plate to another table, I hope they are ok, Ive been fighting a upper respiratory virus for a week or so.When I checked out, I mentioned this to the manager in a courteous manner and she said she’d actually seen this happen and had/would discuss with the server. So of course she apologized and offered something for my poor experience right? A free coffee? 10% off? NO, just charged me the full amount and asked if I would like to add a tip.It doesn’t seem Cafe Java wants my business, which is fine with me, I think I’m through overpaying for truckstop food.
Coffee Heaven. If you love real coffees from all over the world, this is your place, they have a coffee of the day or their own house blend to choose from every day. Buy a cup of outstanding coffee for a pittance more than you’d pay for regular jo, and they keep refilling your cup! They have great tacos, sandwiches, pancakes, omelets, and cool local artists have their artwork displayed on the walls. Want a frozen or iced coffee drink? They do that very well right here. Below is a pic of the best chicken fried chicken i’ve ever had….you can only get it on Tuesdays. And they have friendly exceptional service.
Excellent Service, Outstanding Food. Ate there for the first time on Saturday, 29 March 2014. The food was outstanding and the service was so personal and on point. My waitress Morene was so nice and personable…she made my first experience there great. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting great food, big servings, great service and outstanding prices.
Great place, overall, but with some caveats. Honestly, the food is a little hit and miss. The things I like, I really like. If you stick with the more classic and simple stuff, you won’t be disappointed. The more exotic stuff is lackluster. Good coffee, good service. Be ready for an hour wait if you get there between 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM on Saturday or Sunday.
