Gino’s is a really nice family owned Italian restaurant. I got calamari as an appetizer and the meat lovers pizza. The pizza was on point and the calamari was delicious. The staff was also really friendly.
My Favorite Family-Owned Italian Place!. It’s simple, I just love Gino’s. Had I not moved to the Round Rock area I would have never found this place when I had cravings for good, high-quality pizza one day (not that nasty Pizza Hut stuff, no thanks!). We ordered a large special with hamburger and extra fresh garlic and it was SO. GOOD. Ever since that day I have come here at least once a month, and my boyfriend and I even spent our anniversary here because we both love Gino’s so much. I have experience both dine-in and pick-up service and can say that I have had absolutely no issues with either. I will continue to stop by Gino’s when I get a craving for some good Italian food.
Great food, but crowded and understaffed. Almost everything on the menu is great. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love this place, at least in terms of the food. The employees are friendly and it is a relaxed atmosphere.Because the food is so good, they are on a perpetual wait, frequently over an hour for dinner. Gino’s is also very popular for large parties, so the wait can be really bad when half the restaurant is reserved. That said, the wait is often artificial because they are always understaffed, so they throttle the customers by not seating people, even when there are numerous tables open. Service can also suffer badly at these peak times. I don’t blame the servers for this; they are just very busy.I would highly recommend Gino’s if you are looking for a place to eat on a weekday afternoon or weekend lunch.
Went for the first time on July 3,2014, and had awesome food. Our server made recommendations for the newbies and was very welcoming. Tasty appetizers and really great entrees. Chicken piccata was very flavorful and the classics…lasagne and Fettuccine Alfredo were excellent.
Really good Italian. This is a classic neighborhood Italian joint like I frequented 1000’s of times growing up back east. From some of the reviews I have read, it is obvious that many Texans have no clue as to what Italian food should taste like. they have a great selections of pasta, pizza, eggplant, chicken and my fav mussel dishes. I am so pleased to have found a decent Italian place in small town Texas that is NOT a chain. Say hello to Gina and the rest of the family when you visit. By the way, we are headed their tonight for our anniversary, yes it is that good!
I went to Round Rock yesterday and had the best time, here at Gino’s. my server, Christopher, was such a great person and he was so nice. I got spaghetti and meatballs, a simple recipe. They do it fabulously here. The bread and pesto you get at your table is so good. I will be coming here every time I’m in Round Rock.
Fairly disapointed. I really wanted to enjoy my experience here, but sadly I can’t say that such was the case. The restaurant itself is a quaint setting, nothing special by any means, but nothing off-putting either. The service was definately disapointing, and almost non existent. I finally got a refill of my drink as I was almost finished with my meal, and barely saw a waitstaff. The meal started with a small salad. The lettuce was obviously a bagged mix like you would get off of a shelf at HEB. There were a few low quality olives, and one small sliver each of tomato and red onion. The sun dried tomato vinegrette dressing was decent though. The main course was eggplant parmesean with a side of spaghetti with red/pomodorro sauce. The spaghetti was slightly past al dente, but decent, and the red sauce had a decent flavor. However the eggplant was absolutely horrible. Thinly sliced and rolled into rolotinni’s, they were both under and unevenly cooked, as well as soggy. There was enough promise in the red sauce that I may at some point give this place a second chance, but the eggplant was terrible and it was definately an overall bad experience on almost every front.
