Always ordered the bucket.The long legged crabs with garlic butter and acoompanying sausage and corn were just right for me everytime. Off course the process was tedious and took at least an hour to finish dinner but it was worth it everytime now.solar
This place is horrible. My lobster was overcooked and tasted like tire rubber. There was not a eating utensil around. We had to eat everything with our fingers. The women’s bathroom is the grossest thing ever. Smelled like a fish cleaning station in a texas summer. The kid meal-hamburger was inedible. The patty was burnt to a crisp. Everything was gross. Outside deck needs a powerwash and fingerprints should be cleaned off windows. Days later I can still smell that bathroom.
Best part of whole visit/meal was the hostess who was friendly and nice. Otherwise out of 4 meals only 1 was edible and actually tasty. We went on NY’s Eve for a rather early dinner. Place wasn’t crowded…had surprisingly fair amount of tables open. We thought how wonderful, we don’t have to wait to be seated and our waitress won’t be overburdened. The lack of guests should have been our first hint that this was not the place to dine. Not only was the food disappointing but the service was the worse we have ever had in any restaurant. Waitress forgot the *cracker* for the crab legs, forgot the garlic bread that came with the mussels, asked 2 times for a knife, waited 10 minutes for a refill on a drink after asking for it twice. We mention to our waitress we had already asked for the refill for our drinks and she replied…I can only do 1 thing at a time. This is true and to be fair that statement would have been justified if she was serving multiple tables and the place was busy. She only had 1 other table that we could see and it wasn’t even a large party. It was another table of 4. What we could see was our waitress enjoying conversations with other employees while we waited repeatedly for items. I don’t expect immediate service anywhere but I do expect somewhat decent service and this place failed to even come close to that. To top all that off, after asking for a to go box and waiting 10 minutes for that also, we couldn’t even get our check from our waitress. She finally shows up and acts surprised we were more than ready to leave. I thought it was rather obvious by the to go box and us sitting there with our coats on and keys dangling in my hand. I need to mention the manager. He came by our table towards the end of our meal and asked us how everything was. We replied that our service was horrible. He said sorry and to our shock he walked off. We weren’t looking for a free or discounted meal however we certainly expected a much better attitude coming from the manager. He definitely left us with the impression he could care less about our visit. He approached us again while we were exiting the restaurant and we replied our dining experience was just awful. He apologized again and asked what can I do? We told him the service was the worst we have ever had and we would not be coming back. There was really no point to him asking us again considering he asked us before and then walked off. Joe’s Crab Shack was a horrid fail for us and certainly won’t be receiving our business again. What we anticipated as being a good start to our NY evening ended up being just a horrid dining experience. I have never written a review but this visit motivated me to warn other diners not to waste their money.
I usually love Joe’s Crab Shack, but after tonight’s horrible service I doubt I will ever come back!! Add to that we are freezing on the deck with heaters that do not work!!

Awful. So overpriced, never had a good meal, not a lot of variety, and always terrible service. I can’t wait for this place to close so we can get ANYTHING better.
