Mediocre Mexican Food. The cheese nachos where the best thing that we ate. The Caldwell fajitas were very bland and the only seasoning that I could taste was that of Adobo seasoning. The shrimp were the size of salad shrimp. The fried avocado also lacked flavor, very bland.

Takeout=Great!. Ordered takeout from them last night, and everything was how I remembered. Wonderful queso, enchiladas, and salsa. I think the salsa picked up in its kick, too! The guy who took my order was very friendly and they got my order out in ten minutes!11 Jul, 2012Really Great Food Makes Up For Sometimes Spotty Service. I’ve been here on several occasions and let me start out by saying that my only major grievance with this place is that there doesn’t seem to be too much supervision of the predominantly young service staff. The first time I came for the happy hour and free queso (details to follow towards end of review), my server was amazing. Her name was Erin, and was very friendly and attentive. She really was outstanding! The second time I came with my sister at night, and our server was like a wet mop. She didn’t seem enthused at all to be there and we actually ended up having three different people come by and try to take our order. We also had someone try to bring a second set of plates to us once we had already gotten our meal (clearly a communication breakdown). I’m pretty young myself, but I know how things can slip when younger, more immature people are allowed to run amok. I called this past Sunday to verify their operating hours and the hostess answered that she was pretty sure they were open until nine, and left it at that. That being said…I really like the food here, especially the queso, $1.99 margarita Wednesdays, and enchiladasTea: Pretty gross. Very weak and watered down. Biggest turnoff of the meal.Chips/Salsa: Thin chips (my fave) with awesome salsa. Not too hot, but very delicious and non-roasted. No green sauce provided.Queso: Excellent! Some of the best queso I’ve ever had. They also have a coupon on their website http://www.masfajitas.com/ for a free order of chips and queso if you join their mailing list!Entree: Cheese enchilada plate that came with rice and refried beans. Portions were quite large and the food is incredibly delicious! Three enchiladas on the plate and all were fat and stuffed with cheese. Sister had the quesadilla plate (steak, I think) and it was equally huge and tasty. Very good value for the price.Margaritas: They have a $1.99 Margarita special running all day long on Wednesdays, and these things are badass! I had three of them, all on the rocks, and boy was I tipsy afterwards. I used my free chips and queso coupon and the combination was very pleasing!Atmosphere: Not the greatest, but it gets the job done. The building is in an HEB Plus shopping center and on the outside looks a little like it would be a Taco Bueno or Taco Bell-like restaurant with plastic-y enchiladas and pseudo-Mexican food, but this is a classic case where looks are deceiving. The inside is clean, but could use some more fun decorations.
