Neither authentic nor that good. Pitas are one of those food items that can easily be made at home by almost anyone with access to a grocery store. So to justify going to a pita restaurant, it should probably have meats that are juicy and well-flavored, saffron rice (which is quite expensive to make at home), and a lot of original spices and condiments. This place has none of those. It is essentially the Denny’s or Burger King of Middle Eastern food, which is not that good. On top of that, when I went there the kitchen staff looked like they just came out of a homeless shelter, and the dishes looked like they were made in 5 minutes, even though it took 15 minutes for it to come out.
Used to be good. Loved their Gyros, but they changed from thick slices off a rotary Gyro meat slab, to this thin Steak-um style gyro meat. The flavor, texture, quality, of the meat are not as good. Also the quantity of the meat went down a great deal. Double meat had about as much meat as the single used to. Not recommended any more. Decidedly Disappointing.
Love this place. Fast, well-priced, fresh, healthy, and very tasty.
FABULOUS!. I love the food here. Tuna is excellent, my boyfriend loves the cheesesteak. And falafel! I learned what it is and how to pronounce it!Great Austin feel, great people. Check it out!
Let them help you. I’ve been here two times – the first time I came I ordered a cheesesteak with my own choice of toppings, and it was horrible. Because of that I almost vetoed it for lunch yesterday…My number 1 recommendation here is let them help you order. Went here for lunch yesterday for the Gyro on Wheat – I let them tell me what to put on it and very much enjoyed it. Tzatziki, Jalapeno Hummus, Lettuce, Tomato, Feta – WIN. Don’t be scared of a long line as the people behind the counter seem to be very efficient. We got through a 10 person line in about 5 minutes yesterday, which is even quicker than Subway. There isn’t much room for groups over 4 people, even outside, so I recommend not bringing a ton of friends at once for eating if you’re going to stay there.
They have a great selection of pita fillings. The Philly Cheese Steak tasted great, and they put the perfect amount of cheese on it. They also had a large selection of dressings/sauces.
Great Pita. I love this place. Been eating hear since it opened. Great fresh ingredients and awesome flavor. The two brother owners are nice as well. Great job guys.
