It took them nearly 20 minutes and me catching various servers in a nearly empty restaraunt just to get a drink.Their food is very poor quality and if you have any allergies DO NOT EAT HERE!They do not know what is in their food nor do they know what spices they use or anything else. After finding this out they stuck us with a bill for waters..
Quality not the same as in the past. It seems Rio Grande, which used to be my family’s favorite Mexican food place in Round Rock, is cutting corners on food quality. Since the original owner sold it, the food quality and portions are not the same. I like to get either the migas or #9 lunch (chicken and veggies). The migas have some crummy cheese product on them now instead of the real grated cheese. The #9 is skimpy on the veggies and no longer comes with pico de gallo. Make the drive to Hutto or Pflugerville if you want the good stuff.
Not worth it. After passing by this place for a year and smelling the delicious smells I finally decided to try this place….don’t do it! I went for early lunch take out so you would think everything would be extra fresh, no it was not. Unfortunately the dish that I ordered off the lunch menu, grilled chicken w/zucchini tasted two days old and as far as the zucchini there was a whole 4 thinly sliced pieces of it. Way, way too hot, had to grab some milk after taking a bite. Also got sopapillas, do not order this mess. Was very soggy, doughy and tasteless. Also ordered brownie but w/o the ice cream since I was stopping somewhere else and did not want melted mess in my car…well they got that wrong and put the ice cream in there so to say the least there was a mess. With that being said I have had better brownies from my daughters easy bake oven. I am seriously thinking of taking all this back to the restaurant and asking for a refund, it was that bad.
