This is the best Chinese food I have found in Austin. You know it is authentic ethnic food when that ethnicity is eating there! It is not your typical Americanized Chinese food. If you are expecting Panda Express this is not it. Every dish is so flavorful, fragrant and truly delicious!
This is the best Chinese food I’ve had in the Austin area. I will go very far out of my way for their Sichuan noodles and green beans.
Never again. They recently switched all dishes that used dark meat chicken to white meat chicken. Now all those dishes are way too dry and inedible. I asked the owner about it and they said they had too many people complaining that they want to eat healthy and they should use white meat.Seriously? You’re going to go to a Chinese restaurant and order a dish that isn’t very healthy to begin with, and want them to use white meat since it’s healthier? The only thing more perplexing than this is the fact that the owners actually caved in and are now catering to these idiots.
The food is your average takeout. I would say that for the price of the food. It’s not bad. There are so many choices to choose from. I would have to say that their seasoning is sometimes salty in the Sichuan dumplings . The Pork Lo Mein is very good. Egg drop soup and wonton soup good.
What happened?. We have ordered from them a long time and the food has been good. That is until tonight. Two of the dishes were so salty it almost hurt to eat. The wanton soup smelled funny and the wanton’s tasted like the meat was spoiled. When I called to talk with them they recommended that next time we ask for low salt. Won’t go there again.
This was the weirdest Chinese food I’ve ever had. I had to request that my shrimp in lobster sauce *not* contain shredded pork. I got it to go and discovered once I got home that they forgot half of my order. But after tasting it, I decided they could keep it!! Little did I know that shrimp in lobster sauce = shrimp egg drop soup. With veggies straight out of a freezer bag. Now, the shrimp were a nice size and not overcooked. But they’re in such a weird, thin, poached-eggy sauce! And they wanted to add pork? I wanted shrimp and veggies, not ham and eggs…
