For what it is for the price, Nini is amazing. Their happy hour is the way to go, however everything is still the cheapest I’ve come across in Austin yet. Everything there tastes delicious and for a sports bar, it’s very chill. They only have sushi and katsu bentos though. I wish there was a bit more variety.
Worst sushi ever! The presentation is pretty. Food in bland! Sushi is unsafe! First, they kept us waiting for a table forever. They said 10 minute wait… When they did try to sit us, it was in the bar area, when we asked for a table. Then waiting for a table, they seated several others before us… Ordered plum wine, which a serving size is a normal wine portion. They gave us a martini glass size, which for $7 is rediculous! The tuna tataki…. Looked pretty, but the sauce was very bland. Tuna was good but the sauce makes it. The vegetable tempura was also very bland and undercooked. The tempura batter wasn’t even golden. Worst was the sushi! It was warm sushi! Very unsafe! We were so worried about food poison, we only ate the one piece. We ordered two rolls, both were warm. And the texture of fish seemed off. Noticed when we left, the fish at the sushi bar, wasn’t on ice! DO NOT EAT THE SUSHI!!! Or you risk food poisoning! Seems like a cool place for drinks and watching a game and that it! If you’re looking for good sushi, go else where!!!
