BEST BBQ EVER!. I love Bubbas BBQ, the brisket is delicious, perfectly cooked and very moist. The BBQ sauce is amazing, their beans are very tasty, I go to Bubbas as much as possible, I cannot believe these haters on here, trust me these people being negative do not know good BBQ. Bubbas BBC is super good and highly recommend it.
It is TERRIBLE! Proper equipment is NOT used, the prices are too high for the small amounts of food given, the food is nasty, the place is dirty. The only semi-good thing about Bubba’s is that there is a loaf of bread on each table that you can eat to fill you up after getting such small amounts of food (but it’s kind of nasty because there is not telling who’s hands have been in the bag). Overall it is just an awful place.
Best BBQ in San Angelo. Having grown up eating great BBQ from in and around the Hill Country, I was happy when Bubba’s opened and filled the void for great BBQ in San Angelo. Their ribs are excellent and never disappoint. Great brisket and sausage too. Their pinto beans have a good spice to them and their potato salad is good too. They used to have individual cheesecakes for desert but don’t have them anymore. Wish they would bring them back.
Raw wood smoke. I have given Bubba’s three tries now and I cannot recommend them. The chopped bbq sandwich was ok but I burped it up for hours after eating it, they need to learn how to cook over the coals from seasoned mesquite as opposed to cooking over the raw wood with bark on. The coleslaw was not fresh and the potato salad was out of a tub. I tried the pulled pork on my second visit and it was better than the chopped bbq but only by a bit. The plate that I ordered on my 3rd visit was not a good value. The ribs were dry and not very well seasoned and the sliced brisket was the same. The sides were still not what you would expect from a place that wanted you to return. Cold cobbler topped off the experience.
Yeah, not eating from Bubbas BBQ again.. When they first opened, briskit and ribs were ok, cobbler refrigerator cold but they were close to the house, we found our new BBQ place!. As time went by we never knew when they would be open so we started going to another BBQ place (Bodacious, yum!). Tonight they were open and serving a new special, great…yeah not so great, asked for Medium rare and was told it only comes in Medium, instead meat was beyond jerky and even well past shoe letter and still cobbler refrigerator cold! This will be the last time we spend our time and money at Bubbas BBQ!
I like their sausage (both regular and jalapeno) but haven’t tried anything else. All of my other dining buddies seem to like everything they offer.
Excellent sweet tea and chopped sandwiches. Poor parking, but good and friendly staff make up for it.
