Best bakery ever!!!
The FOOD GURU says: listen here. If anyone says that Halfmanns is anything but outstanding, they are mad. I am a man in the food industry. I use halfmanns very often. Sometimes more than once a day. For 7 years they have never let me down. The BEST quality, the BEST service, on time delivery and reasonable pricing. Please take the word of a 7 year loyal customer & food service guru, do not listen to the trolls that dare write anything but the truth. They clearly should be shopping for baked goods at wal-mart instead of a classy bakery like Halfmanns!! I have shopped around the market, Im not blinded by my appreciation for Halfmanns. Everytime I check, they are still the best!! NOT EVEN CLOSE!!
Wedding cake. I got married on September 15 just this year and had been planning on making my own bridal cake. It wasn’t going to be anything fancy. When we was traveling through San Angelo on the way to the state park we were getting married we stopped to visit my aunt that lives there. She was at work so we went for breakfast. Right when we were finishing I received a call from her saying she was at Halfmann’s ordering me a surprise wedding cake. We rushed over and spent the next hour picking out a cake. I had priced wedding cakes at other bakery’s and they were all way way over priced and needed a months notice before they would do a wedding cake which is why I had decided to just make my own. Halfmann’s were not only reasonable in their pricing but had the cake ready to be picked up the next day. And it was beautiful! And delicious! They did just a wonderful job that I’ll recommend them to anyone that needs a cake for any reason. It really brightened up my wedding to have such a beautiful cake! 🙂
So I went to halfmanns to order a cake for my daughters first birthday party. Everybody was really excited about it because the picture we sent in was really pretty and we spent $400 on it so we were expecting something great. Well the day of her party we got the cake and it was falling apart. It was cracking and breaking apart on it’s own. Then when it was time to eat everybody got there cake and it was so nasty and dry! I would have rather went to walmart and got a cake than go here!! Total waste of money!
Awkward. I was told this was the best bakery in town. Lies. I came in to try and buy cupcakes and french macaroons. . Initially I had called because I wanted make sure they carried french macaroons and when I called I was told that this bakery sold them. When I got there I asked the girl working if I could get a dozen macaroons and she begins to pack the small coconut cakes that contain almonds. I was confused because I was told they had the colorful and fluffy french macaroon cookies. The girl looked at me like I was stupid when I explained what I was looking for, she gave me a curt and somewhat rude reply to my question and made it seem as though french macaroons didn’t exist, sigh. I gave up and gave the cupcakes a try, again she made me feel weird when I asked her questions regarding the flavors almost like I should have known the flavors. Nonetheless I left with red velvet cupcakes (the only ones they had) and tried one at home. They were dry, and bland. Oh well my search for french macaroons continues.
Dry cake, bought a basket of assorted goodies, cookies, bars, etc…all tasteless. Gone downhill.
Used to be great, but in recent years, quality has gone down. I ordered a custom cake for my daughter’s birthday, and it was so dry and awful we couldn’t eat it.
