Never going back! The owners are rude and cheap! The service sucks. My waitress got my order wrong and also forgot most of the things I asked for, including refills. My sushi also took FOREVER to come out. The chef did a great job though, which madethis experience bearable. My rating: ZERO STARS
Most food was too salty…… Fried rice was too salty, long wait but not busy, too dark inside ,dirty. My experience was terrible.
Allright. The food was good and the chefs did great but the owners are very rude and stare at you the hole time you are trying to enjoy your meal, and the steak was good but all the vegtables were nothing but onions and you only get a little bit of rice . I think they were more concerned about getting there togo orders out than tinding to there customers ..
Not what it used to be.. I left San Angelo about eight years ago and Ichiban was one of the best places to eat. It had a friendly atmosphere, clean and appealing. I recently returned to find the place under new ownership, dirty, and very unappealing. The wait staff and chefs looked almost beaten down in their demeanor. The new owner was yelling and berating them in front of the customers while the other half were just standing around doing nothing. Under the new ownership they have added a few items; however, this makes no difference when the food that is prepared is dripping with butter and drowned with soy sauce. The sushi was ok but it is a little scary eating sushi prepared in a place that is so dirty. I would imagine the new owners paid for the name and recipes when they took over but they could have at least cleaned the place. The soup is the only thing that still tastes remotely like the old Ichiban, nothing else. The chefs do not perform as they did before and there is no interaction with guests to liven things up. Overall, if you are looking for good food and a friendly atmosphere, you might look across town to one of the other Japanese steakhouses, I know I will.
Dirty, hot, and RUDE owners and waitstaff. Ichibans has changed for the worse, bring back the old owners!!!!!!!
Yummm!!!. Went here with my husband for our anniversary. The cook was awesome! He had some tricks for us while preparing dinner, and the food was delicious! There was too much food to eat it all, but leftovers were amazing. Loved the atmosphere, food, entertainment, service, and price… will be returning often 🙂
LOVE ME SOME ICHIBAN!!! Best fried rice and Ginger sauce I’ve ever had! And – does it really matter the ethnicity of the chef as long as they are cooking the food correctly? Everyone I know loves going there!
