Hometown Favorite. One of the best kept secrets in San Angelo. Right in the middle of Santa Rita, Mr. T’s is a perfect breakfast or lunch place with great sandwiches, soups, and baked goods. Specials everyday that are excellent especially the chicken-fried chicken (Thursdays) and the meatloaf (Fridays). I’ve been going there through 3 different owners over the last decade and the place always delivers a great meal from friendly people. Best breakfast in town!

Slow. I entered and there was only a couple sitting waiting fr their food. I placed my order and waited 15 minutes for this?! They could have brought my salad while I waited for them to create my sandwich… I will not be returning.

New owners. The new owners have it clean and back to the way it was 5 years ago. Very dependable food

Love their food!. I can’t get enough of their bagged chips! MMMMM, how I love fountain sodas. I think that fountain sodas were invented at Mr T’s, weren’t they? I love all the really great talent behind the bar, too, awesome stuff.

Transports me back Home!. My girlfriend and I went on a lunch date today because I had the morning off from work, so she decided to show me this little deli. She knew I would love it because she knows me very well. When we got there I loved the atmosphere of it it reminded me of a diner back home in Dublin called The Buckboard that had been open for 30 years. Anyways the food was just as good and the wait was a bit much but it was well worth it. I ordered the Bob’s Special Sandwich with Spicy Fries. The Sandwich was amazingly outstanding! It was grilled chicken breast with sauteed onions and bell peppers, topped off with a slice of swiss cheese all on toasted wheat berry bread. The chicken was juicy and cooked spot on and had no lack of anything! paired with the onions and peppers, it’s almost like I was eating a chicken fajita sandwich! Loved the atmosphere and I forgot I was in San Angelo until I saw one of the paintings on the wall that read San Angelo, Texas. My girlfriend had the Chicken Salad Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries. Both of these were very good but I would have liked the salad to have a touch more of celery salt. Overall it wasn’t over dressed or anything. The sliced tomatoes and crisp lettuce went well with it although I prefer my sandwich plain on bread. It was rich and creamy but would be better on the wheat berry bread. The sweet potato fries lacked flavor but then again they were sweet potato fries. When eating those you want to remember to taste the hint of sweetness otherwise why not just order fries right? They were a bit soggy but the plain flavor of them was good. Salt and brown sugar could be a good coating for them in the future but that’s just my opinion. Loved the place overall and will gladly be back for more! Food: 5/5Service: 3/5Atmosphere: 5/5Beer: N/A

Bad food. My wife and I decided to try Mr T’s for breakfast. My wife ordered the french toast. She could not eat it because, as I showed one of the staff that when you pressed on it it oozed and drip out grease. It seemed like they put bread in a deep fryer, put powdered sugar on it and called it french toast – there was no egg coating. I ordered an omelet with hash browns bacon and toast. The hash browns were so greasy that for most of the morning I couldnt get the grease off my lips. The bacon was almost burnt and the toast was dripping with what appeard to be a liquid butter. The staff member didn’t charge me, but she didn’t seem to care. Pity that they do not have quality control over their food.
