Been there several times over the years. Brisket is dry and overly smoked. Last visit, I burped smoke flavor all afternoon and evening. Truly my last visit. If you must go, get the catfish.

Staff is super friendly, the food is cheap, served quickly and absolutely delicious!!! I definitely recommend this place if you want great barbecue.

Best Catfish in Town. I usually have either the chopped brisket sandwich or the fried catfish. The sandwich is very good, and the catfish is great. I grew up in Louisiana, where my dad would go out and run the trot lines in the morning, and we’d have fresh fried catfish for lunch. These folks don’t make it quite THAT good, but it’s the only restaurant in town where I’ll routinely order the fried catfish. I make it a point to try other places – once – and it just isn’t as good. The place has been around for years and the furniture shows it. It’s out near the lake, so it gets a lot of that business, and across the street from a large church (good luck getting in for Sunday lunch!). My husband gives their BBQ a 4 out of 5.The cobbler, cole slaw, beans and french fries are good, but not exceptional. I’m not into onion rings, so I’ll let other folks talk about those…Service is quick and friendly, even when they’re busy.

Never Again. Ate there once, never again. cramped, dirty seating, plastic forks, paper plates. BBQ was just fair to taste and VERY OVERPRICED> I do not recommend.

Like it for the food…. Although the service has always been good on my visits the place is in need of a serious makeover. It looks dirty, feels dirty and everything is disposable, maybe that’s a blessing. Based on the taste and price ONLY, I’d give it a solid 7.5. Great Dale Earnhardt and Dale Jr. memorabilia collection though!

The standard for BBQ in San Angelo. Brisket is good but I love the poor boy sandwich with homemade fries. Don’t forget the cobbler and homemade i’ve cream.

Onion rings are awesome, brisket tender and flavorful, spate ribs were large and tasty. Sides aren’t good (beans no flavor, potato salad bland) but who cares because the meat and rings were fabulous!
