Great Food. WMy family and I metat Rjs today and it was delisous! We ordered brisket, chicken, ribs, potato salad, and beans. They were all delicious! The bbq was top notch! The brisket was fantastic but everything was cooked so well. My only request or complaint would be to have a regular sweet tea instead of lemon tea.
Unprofessional. I called to obtain information and the customer service was less than professional. They spoke over me so I had to ask my question again. I hope the in person service is not the same as well as the quality vs quantity of the food.
Great BBQ. Better company. We were their last customers this evening and Joanne and Charles were great hosts. You won’t leave hungry and maybe you can check out the pit in back like I did.
Best in San Angelo. In mine and most of my friends opinions, this is hands down the best BBQ in San Angelo. I like the friendly atmosphere and the people running the joint are a hoot! And the food is great. Had the combo plate with cobbler for desert. Highly recommend.
Well…………… I can’t in all fairness say that I like or dislike the BBQ here. I find that I prefer the Q in the Carolinas and other southern states. Here in TX, the sauce tends to be on the spicy side and the beans are very bland. I prefer a sweeter sauce and tomato based bean sauce. That being said, the meat was good, and I may well try it again without the sauce. The coleslaw was yummy. I’m just not a fan of Texas BBQ I guess.
Always closed when i go by. Seems like whenever i go by they are closed. i think they are closed on mondays. didn’t think the bbq was anything special, and the help acted like they were doing me a favor. and if you are closed, please don’t park your cars out front so that people think you are and stop.the only good bbq in SA is bodacious. period.
Best Brisket in Town IMO. I am suprised that this is the 1st review of R.J.’s BBQ.It has been in San Angelo for several years now. I have eaten here several times over the last few years and have always been impressed with the quality of the brisket. Excellent smoke ring, moist, tender and usually well trimmed. The pork ribs are pretty good as well, as is the chicken. The sausage is just so-so, plain, commercial stuff like every other BBQ place in San Angelo. You would think that sooner or later one of the places would discover South Oakes Drive-In and the great quality authentic German sausage made there and feature it instead of Hillshire Farms or whatever this stuff is. But I digress………The potato salad is home made and quite good, not the crappy prefab stuff offered in so many places.Pretty good fried catfish on Fridays as well. The service is, well, sketchy at times. Kind of depends on the mood of the the lady up front who I assume is the owner or his wife. Nice at times, pretty abrupt at others. Oh well, for good brisket, I can overlook a bad day.In a town with some pretty bad BBQ places, I’m glad that R.J.’s is here.
