Stango's is a pretty nice spot and tries to revive the old soda fountain style of the 1950s and 60s. It even has a jukebox filled with oldies. The set…

The atmosphere was a little uncomfortable. Maybe because we were the only ones there or because the music was really low. They did greet us when we walked in and that was nice. Our waitress was kind but a little uncaring. Maybe she isnt a people person or we caught her at the wrong time. I had the cibatta melt and the nutty irishman frozen coffee drink. My cibatta melt was ok, not great. It just came with cheese and meat, no dressing. Dressing would have made it better. My coffee was good but tasted like a standard frozen coffee. I could not taste the irish cream or hazelnut as described in the menu. My husband had the bacon egg and cheese on an english muffin. For the size and it not coming with a side or drink it was overpriced. He had a mocha for his coffee drink. It tasted good but was way overpriced. We were charged for a 16oz and the glass was clearly a 12oz. My daughter did love her pb&j.
This place is great 🙂 super friendly staff and great food! The sandwiches are HUGE! I got the Italian without any meat, and could barely eat half of it. Meals come with chips. I wish there were a few more options if your vegetarian. I only gave it a 3.5 because of the price. A sandwich, chips, and tea cost me $12 and I’d feel better paying around $9 or less.
Like this place but the people aren’t very helpful. The owner also was being obnoxious and yelling at the workers from across the room. Tables weren’t clean either. Hope this place can fix these minor problems.
Great Place. I just moved here from NY where there are coffee shops every 30 yards. That being said I find some of the posts I see about restaurants here quite comical. To the owner: Anyone who makes a comment about your place and compares it to a mega store like the 2 mentioned in most of the posts has no merit and you should not waste your time responding. The anonymity on these sites can produce arm chair quarterbacks with loose lips and an over active typing hand, with no idea about running small business and trying to bring quality items and good service all while trying to turn a profit.I have been to Stangos many times and have always been impressed with the products I have had, and I have never looked at my bill because I was happy with the product and will pay for quality. The owners answer to the people that write comments about starbucks and hastings or wherever else they are getting horrible coffee, should be stay out of my store, take your cammo shirt and nascar hat and go to stripes and get a cup of coffee for 99 cents.
Horrible service. We were completely ignored.
Amazing!!!<3. I loved the ice cream it was amazing!<3 Great place to go when your pregnant and want to get out of the house for a cute little date with the one you love and aviod all the drunk people.. This place puts you in the best mood with the music and environment its like it takes you back in time! You have to try it!!(:
NOT a coffee shop. You can call any place a coffee shop, but this is not one. You have to offer a bit more than just iced cappuccino and espresso to call yourself a coffee shop. What I WOULD give this place credit for is that it IS a decent DINER. The espresso I ordered was good, and my son’s egg cream was nice. Basically, if you are looking for a coffee shop, you won’t find what you are looking for here, but then again, it seems like San Angelo doesn’t really have anything of the sort. (No, Starbucks and Hastings don’t count.)
