The potential is there. The exterior looks like a German pub. The first impression is very positive. Inside is a well loved pub. The old beat up tables and steins hanging from the bar are impressive. Then the experience starts to go down hill. The host looking station is misleading. No one will greet or seat you. Find your own seat. An uncaring server will drop a menu and ask for a drink order. Drinks, the ordering process and dropping off food are just a chore to be completed. If they even tried it would help. I did really like my Pub Burger. The toasted bun was perfect. The half pound of beef was pink in the middle and had great flavor. The fries were okay. I probably will not be back. A dirty table and uncaring service ruin a nice theme and great burger.
We head here when we’re in need of some brews and really good pizza. Thanks to their brick oven, you can request it comes out nice and crispy. I’m not too keen on the allowance of smoking inside (while trying to enjoy dinner) because I end up coming home smelling pretty yucky. However, I will give them props for receiving a mention in Texas Monthly… that’s a pretty big deal, especially for Sherman. mybakingheart.com
Really enjoy this place but its getting too expensive.. I really enjoy going here and having dinner and drinks. They have a great beer selection and the food tastes great! But they charge way too much for a beer. It is getting ridiculous. I understand these are craft beers and you pay a premium for them but 5.75 for a local beer is ridiculous. You can go to any bar in Denton and get 903 Brewers for 3-4 bucks. Same with other premium craft beers. They need to re-evaluate the prices they are charging people for a single beer.

I don’t get it.. I really don’t understand why this place has such high ratings. I have lived in this area my entire life and have been to cellarman’s many times mainly because people I know like to go there for some reason. I think this place sucks! it’s always waaaay too loud, there are too many drunks and the service is god awful! the food is mediocre at best and the waitresses are female dogs. I haven’t been there in over a year and plan on keeping that way!
I am a world traveler having lived in Europe for four years and all over the States. This is my favorite pub. I love it. I go back every chance I get. The beer on tap is excellent. The food is great.
The Pizza. The pizza is the best pizza in Sherman. They also have a great selection of beer. We had the chicken fried steak once, the portion was out of this world huge (an entire plate on its own) and priced super cheap, but I wasn’t impressed with the flavor. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either. I enjoy the atmosphere but on Friday and Saturday evenings it gets packed so if you aren’t into the college crowed go earlier in the day. Either way make sure you go for a Pizza!!!!
