Great location and the atmosphere is wonderful however we waited an hour and a half for our food. The waiter brought us out the check before we even received the food! Was pretty disappointed by the service. The food was good but unless they can start serving faster and a tad politer then I don’t think we will return.
We visited OIP shortly after they opened and waited 2 hours for just ok food. My husband got our drinks fairly quickly by going to the bar and getting them. The venue is great and we really hope they make it, so we went back last night to see how things have changed. We got our drinks, apps, and food in a reasonable period of time. I had two Patron margaritas during our stay. The first was ok, a little watered down. I think it had sat for a while before being delivered. The second was very good, I enjoyed it very much. The adults got monkey balls (mushroom caps stuffed with cream cheese) for an app which are excellent when hot, but just ok when they cool down. The kids got fried cheese curds for an app. The choices for cheese curds are bacon flavor and jalapeo flavor. We got the bacon flavor. They were yuck. The kids ate one and stopped. The flavor and texture were both off. My husband got the chicken fried steak which was so over cooked that I heard the meat crack when he was cutting it. He did like the mashed potatoes and asparagus that he got for sides. So they offered him something else and he chose Frito chili pie. He said that was very good although some chopped onions on top would have been better. I shared a mushroom Swiss burger and chicken street tacos with a friend. The street tacos were again just ok. Not much flavor at all. The best part were the corn tortillas but they are provided by another local eatery. There was a sprinkling of crema fresca and cilantro, but the chicken was so bland… I’m not at all sure that the mushroom Swiss burger wasn’t a preformed patty. It was very dry (in their defense we did order it well done, but I’ve had plenty of juicy well done burgers). Other than the Swiss cheese, the burger had very little flavor either. Sauted mushrooms and onions were on top. The onions a little flavor, we could see a few mushrooms but couldn’t taste them. No mayo or sauce was served with or on the burger, neither were any veggies. The most flavorful thing I had on either entre was the French fries and then only because of the ketchup (which I usually don’t eat with fries unless they are, wait for it… under seasoned). Just salt and pepper would go a long way toward improving the fare at OIP. We don’t go out only for drinks, but that’s about all I’d recommend here.
