After a 29th Anniversary trip to Eisenhower State Park we stopped in at Rib Crib in Sherman. I tend to have low expectations for BBQ joints, especially ones that look at new and shiny as this but we were very happy to have stopped here! The inside is decorated with beer signs and movie posters. After the outdoors it was good to be inside because the lighting was subdued – not overly bright but not dim either. Just right for late afternoon.I had ribs and brisket, and my wife had ribs. It turned out this wasn’t just a combo of the two meats – I got a full half-rack of baby back ribs and a lot of brisket. To make things short while the ribs were slightly overdone – they completely fell off the bone – the texture was still very good and the flavor was excellent. They came with sauce on them, although you could order them bare. We both liked the sauces on the ribs a lot.The brisket didn’t have a large smoke ring but it tasted good without the sauce. I tried all three sauces (mild, spicy, and vinegar) and liked all of them.Even though we were very full it was out anniversary so we had the pecan pie and lemonade cake and finished both of them. The rest of the BBQ is waiting in our refrigerator. If this was closer to home this would be our regular BBQ joint. (Lockhard in Plano has too much spice for my wife to handle.)
