Great local eatery. Having lived in Temple for 20 months, my wife and I finally got around to trying this restaurant for lunch today. We were both very impressed and think their burgers are certainly as good as or better than any others we have tried in Temple or Belton, TX.We had the Swiss, bacon burger and it was excellent. The bun was soft, very good tasting and perfectly toasted and the ingredients fresh. We also tried their all-beef chili which was extremely good – kind of a cross between beef chili and beef stew. I will definitely try it again. For an extra 25 cents, you can have their self-serve beans with any burger. I am not a big baked bean fan, but had three helpings of these – the beans were tasty, firm and had small bits of jalapeo in them – but were not overly spicy. The French-fries were battered and very good.Their menu had lots of other items (chicken, chicken fried steak, baked potatoes, spiral-cut potatoes, etc.) The atmosphere inside (they have an active drive-thru business) was open and quiet – and the service was excellent. It is a bit off-the-beaten-path in Temple, but close to I35 and well worth a try.
