Burgers like they used to be. I’m an old geezer, so I remember what burgers and fries used to be like at Guy’s Orange Stand and the Polar Bear on Highway 82. Or for that matter, any mom and pop burger stand before 1970. This is what Whataburger is like. The food is good, the shakes and malts are exceptional.Whataburger excels at customer service. You can only dream at other places about the kind of treatment you’ll get everyday at Whataburger. I go to all the WB’s in T-town, and it’s true of all of them.One small note, not really a complaint, but an observation. At the Texas side WB, we’ve sometimes noticed that the level of service depends on whether or not a manager is on premises. I don’t know if I’m stating the obvious here.If you have to go to a chain burger house, Whataburger is the place to go. It really elevates itself above the status of a chain restaurant.
